The painting of the first steps of Jesus, is located in Peru, in the department of Cusco, inside
the Church and Convent of Santa Catalina is a convent of cloistered nuns located in the city of
Cuzco, Peru. It is located 100 meters southeast of the Plaza de Armas on the site where, during
the Inca era, the Acllawasi palace was located. This painting dates from the 18th century, it is
clearly noticeable in the painting by its overloaded golden colors in the characters' clothing, to
a pre-iconographic description in the central part ahead we can see two adult characters, a
woman and a man, between them a child that is seen to be trying to walk, then we also have a
child angel observed, from behind them, and in the upper part there are also three cupids and
above them is an old man, and a dove flying above and two winged characters, a description at
an iconographic level, would be that we have the Virgin Mary in the central part, a blue mantle
and seeing how the Child Jesus, takes his first steps towards where Joseph is, the child wears a
kind of skirt and a white tunic and next to him is Joseph, he wears a yellow mantle with gold
embroidery, and a green tunic tight at the waist, also in the back we can see a child angel,
looking at Jesus, and in the p superior art we see the eternal father and the holy spirit
represented by the dove, at his sides we have two angels and three cupids, in short this
painting is the representation of the first steps that Jesus took in his home in Nazareth, this
painting does not have a author, is anonymous, is a clear example of the art that could be done
in the eighteenth century, for the golden colors.
