on the box, the humidity contained in the corrugated board, the load applied to
the stowage (arrangement of the boxes, type of thickness or thickness of the
palletizing and the tension (force) with which they apply the film).

II.CASE 2
If you have two boxes of corrugated cardboard, one single wall (1) and one double
wall who has been determined the compression resistance of a specimen taken
from the same box. With these samples, a maximum load of 58 and 72 kg has been
obtained.

a) Calculate the compressive strength of the box, using the McKee method
Formula: 𝐶 = 5.874(𝐸𝑇𝐶)√𝐻𝑍

c) Issue a conclusion
𝐶 = 5.874(𝐸𝑇𝐶)√𝐻𝑍

IV.CASE 4
There is a corrugated box, flute C, with the following dimensions:
Length = 630 mm= 63 cm Flute C= 4 mm= 0.4 cm
Width = 480 mm= 48 cm
ECT= 6.5 kg/cm
a) Calculate the compressive strength of the box only, using the McKee
method
𝐶 = 5.874 ∗ 6.5 ∗ √. 4 ∗ 222 = 359.793 𝑘𝑔
This box can withstand a load of up to 359,793 kg.
b) Calculate the compressive strength of the spacers, using the McKee
method
𝐶 = 5.874 ∗ 6.5 ∗ √. 4 ∗ 82 = 218.667 𝑘𝑔
c) What will be the compressive strength in this case considering the box
with the spacers?
359.793 kg + 218.667= 578.46 kg
For this reason, the total resistance of the box considering the spacers will be
578.46 kg.

A = 41.6 cm H = 25.2 cm
394.9532 kg
VII.CASE 7
Length= 54.1 cm
Width= 41.6 cm
Height= 25.2 cm
NOTE: It is important to mention that this formula was determined for a sample of
single wall C flute boxes and with a Mullen between 9 and 16 kg / cm2.
Where:
C = Understanding of the corrugated box (kg) 3.576
L = Length of box base (cm)
A = Width of the box base (cm)
H = Box height (cm)
C = 3.576 (54.1 + 41.6) +2.45 (25.2) -9.01 = 394.95
So:
C = 3.576 L = 54.1 cm
A = 41.6 cm H = 25.2 cm
Datos:
Altura= 26.1 cm
NOTA: Es importante mencionar que esta fórmula fue determinada para una
muestra de cajas de pared sencilla flauta C y con un Mullen entre 9 y 16 kg/cm2.
Fórmula:
C=3.576 (L+A) + NX (X) + NY (Y) + 2.45 (H) – 9.01

C= Compresión de la caja corrugada con divisores (kg)
L= Largo de la base de la caja (cm) 52.8 cm
A= Ancho de la base de la caja (cm) 43.8 cm
NX= Número de separadores largos en la caja 3

C=651.3866-9.01
C= 642.3766 kg
VIII.CASE 8
There is a corrugated with the following dimensions:
Data:
If the product is also protected with spacers, these elements will become more
resistant to the box with respect to compression.
NOTE: It is important to mention that this formula was determined for a sample of
single-walled C flute boxes with a Mullen between 9 and 16 kg / cm2.
a) What would be the compressive strength, using the IMPEE formula?
b) Integrate the procedure to obtain the answer.
Formula:
C = 3.576 (L + A) + NX (X) + NY (Y) + 2.45 (H) - 9.01
Where:
C = Compression of corrugated box with dividers (kg)
L = Length of box base (cm) 52.8 cm
A = Width of the base of the box (cm) 43.8 cm
NX = Number of long spacers in box 3
X = Length of long divider (cm) 52 cm
NY = Number of wide spacers in box 2
Y = Length of divider width (cm) 43 cm
H = External height of the box (cm) 26.1cm
Process:
C = 3.576 (52.8 + 43.8) +3 (52) +2 (43) +2.45 (26.1) -9.01
C = 3.576 (96.6) + 156 + 86 + 63.945-9.01
C = 3.57 (96.6) + 156 + 86 + 63.945-90.1
C = 651.3866-9.01
C = 642.3766 kg
Conclusion: The
compressive strength using
this formula is 642.3766 kg.
Indicating an acceptable
precision.
IX.CASO 9.
Calcular.
a) La resistencia a la compresión
b) La estiba máxima
EM= C/P
EM= 165.682/8
EM= 20.71025 = 20 CAJAS
g) Altura a 3 estibas
114*3 = 342 cm = 3.42 m = 3 estibas
3.42 m
It has a box 24 cm long, 18 cm wide and 10 cm high. The weight of the product
with box 8 kg and height of the platform 14 cm.
Calculate.
a) Compressive strength
C = 3.576 (L + A) +2.45 (H) -9.01
C = 3.576 (24 + 18) +2.45 (10) -9.01
C = 165.682 Kg.
b) Maximum stowage
MS = C / P
MS = 165.682 / 8
EM = 20.71025 = 20 BOXES
c) Maximum stowage height
Height = H * EM
Height = (10 * 21)
Height = 210cm = 2.1m
g) Height at 3 pallets
114 * 3 = 342 cm = 3.42 m = 3 pallets
NOTE. The recommendation to stow double pallets with a maximum height of 1.2
m is to optimize the loading of the containers. Therefore, the height of the platform
must be considered.
