TEMA 4: THIRD CONDITIONAL (No possibility)

El tercer condicional en inglés se usa para hablar de situaciones imposibles. Expresa situaciones que no pasaron y los posibles
resultados que nos hubiera gustado obtener Todos los condicionales se forman de 2 oraciones: La condición y el resultado. Para
escribir oraciones en tercer condicional usaremos el tiempo pasado perfecto en la condición y el verbo modal “would have” en el
resultado más verbos de acción en pasado participio.

Hay 3 tipos de oraciones: Afirmativas, Negativas e interrogativas y se forman con las siguientes estructuras:

Oraciones afirmativas:
A: If + S + had + past participle action verb + C, S + would If we had studied harder, we would have passed the test.
have + past participle action verb + C
Oraciones negativas:
N: If + S + hadn’t + past participle action verb + C, S + If Laura hadn’t eaten so much, she wouldn’t have felt sick.
wouldn’t have + past participle action verb + C
Estructura de Oraciones interrogativas:
If you had brought more money, would you have bought
I: If + S + had + past participle action verb + C, Would + S +
more clothes?
have + past participle action verb + C + ?
Nota: En las oraciones correspondientes al resultado, además del set de verbos auxiliares would have (habría), podemos usar could have (podría haber)
o might have (podría haber) dependiendo del caso y lo que se quiera expresar.

If I had known better, (Si hubiera sabido mejor) I wouldn´t have accused him. (No lo habría acusado)
If you had asked me, (Si me hubieras preguntado) I might have helped you. (Podría haberte ayudado)
If we had studied more, (Si hubieramos estudiado más) we could have passed the test. (Podríamos haber pasado el examen)

En las oraciones condicionales podemos escribir primero la condición y luego el resultado o intercambiar las posiciones de las
oraciones, de esa forma escribiríamos primero el resultado y luego la condición.

El tercer condicional se utiliza para:
