RESUMEN
ABSTRACT
A calorimetry analysis was performed to study the heat capacity of different substances and mixtures
by applying the first law of thermodynamics that explains how the energy of the universe is constant in
an isolated thermodynamic system. In the experimental part a calorimeter (isolated system) was
specified in which the specific heat or 'S' of the system (1,422 J/g°C) was measured. Subsequently,
the heat capacity of a tomato sauce (1,643 cal/g), piece of copper metal (0,523 J/g°C) and a
neutralization reaction (-66,32 KJ/mol) were found. From the study it was determined that in a system
of constant pressure and adiabatic isolation, the internal energy remains constant and the heat
transferred by the samples at high temperatures is absorbed by the calorimeter.
