COMPARATIVOS Y SUPERLATIVOS

La mayoría de los adjetivos que contienen solo una silaba pueden añadirse al final las letras “ er” o “est” ya sean para
comparativos o superlativos respectivamente.
Pero cuando los adjetivos terminan en la letra “e” solo se añade las letras “ r” o “st” para comparativos y superlativos
respectivamente. Además que los superlativos siempre usan la palabra “the” antes del sustantivo.

Extraño más extraño que el más extraño
Fast Faster The Fastest
rápido más rápido que el más rápido
Hard Harder The Hardest
duro más duro que el más duro
Cheap Cheaper The Cheapest
barato más barato que el más barato

Hay otros adjetivos (los que empiezan por Consonante, luego les sigue una vocal y nuevamente un
consonante) en los que hay que añadir otra consonante antes de añadir”er” o “est” para comparativos y
superlativos respectivamente.

La regla es: se dobla la consonante final si adjetivo tiene,

 una sílaba
 acaba en una única consonante
 y esta es precedida de una única vocal

Para los adjetivos que tienen una silaba y que terminan “w” “x”  se añade “er” y “est” para comparativos y
superlativos respectivamente.

nuevo más nuevo que el más nuevo
Slow Slower than The Slowest
lento más lento que el más lento

Para los adjetivos que tienen dos silabas y que terminan en “y” se les añade “er” y “est” para comparativos
y superlativos respectivamente. Pero la letra “y” debe ser cambiada por la letra “i”.

Todos los otros adjetivos que tienen más de dos sílabas utilizan las palabras “more” y “the most” para
comparativos y superlativos respectivamente.

My name is Sam and I am going to talk to you about classroom

rules. My teacher thinks I am one of the best students in
her class and this is why.
