There are some special words which describe how people spend
their free time. When you like spending a lot of time sitting or lying
down watching television or playing games on the computer, you are
called a couch potato. A couch is a piece of furniture that people sit
on while watching television. We can also call people that enjoy
working on the computers as mouse potatoes. A computer mouse is
the device that moves the pointer, or cursor, on a computer screen.
Couch potatoes enjoy watching television and mouse potatoes enjoy
working on computers. The other term we use is couch surfer,
someone who spends a lot of time on the couch with his tv remote
control switching through the tv stations. Or Internet surfer,
someone who goes from web site to web site on the internet.
