 - Escriba los principales conceptos descritos en la sección “Let’s listen” y
“Let’s read”, luego traduzca estos conceptos a español, a manera de
glosario.

Balance sheet. It reflects the structure of a company and has information regarding
a company’s assets, liabilities and available capital. This information is presented
at the end of a reporting period or on an annual basis.

Hoja de balance. Refleja la estructura de una empresa y tiene información sobre

los activos de una empresa, pasivos y capital disponible. Esta información se
presenta al final de un informe. período o sobre una base anual.
Income statement. It reflects the results of a company’s operation in terms of
incomes, expenses, profits and losses over a year or particular period of time of a
project.

Estado de resultados. Refleja los resultados de la operación de una empresa en

términos de ingresos, gastos, ganancias y pérdidas durante un año o un período
de tiempo particular de un proyecto.
Cash Flow statement. It indicates cash flow changes (inflows and outflows) over a
particular period of time.
The main purpose of Financial Statements is to provide information on a business’
current financial position, performance and changes in its financial position to a
wide range of users, in order to support and guide management decision-making.
Such users can be divided in several groups:

Share holder: Use information to assess performance of the management.
Accionista: Utilizan información para evaluar el desempeño de la administración.
Management: Responsible for day to day business management. Need
information on financial situation of business, i.e. current and expected situation in
the future.
Gestión: Responsable de la gestión empresarial del día a día. Necesita
información sobre la situación financiera de la empresa, es decir, la situación
actual y prevista en el futuro.
Trade Partners: Suppliers selling goods need information on security of their sales
and payments. Customers buying goods need information on security and stability
of their purchases.
Socios comerciales: los proveedores que venden productos necesitan
información sobre la seguridad de sus ventas y pagos. Los clientes que compran
bienes necesitan información sobre la seguridad y estabilidad de sus compras.
Creditors: Need an assurance that loans granted to a business and interests on
those loans will be paid on time.
Acreedores: necesitan una garantía de que los préstamos concedidos a una
empresa y los intereses de los préstamos se pagarán a tiempo.
Taxation authorities: Use information for assessment of taxes, including sales
tax.
Autoridades fiscales: utilizan la información para la determinación de impuestos,

Financial analysts: Use information to provide services to clients (investors, credit
agencies).

Public: Businesses are part of the public. They contribute to local economy,
employment, usage of local resources and environmental preservation. Information
here is used to evaluate such contribution.

Government institutions: Use information to allocate resources for statistical
purposes.

 - En la sección “Let’s write”, organice las palabras y agréguelas en las
oraciones incompletas. Escriba en el documento las palabras organizadas y
pegue la captura de pantalla donde se indique que termino el ejercicio
exitosamente.

Sales Budget is the first input a company needs to estimate incomes costs,
expenses and generally, all the elements that make un the financial statements. Of
the classic 4Ps of marketing.

Presupuesto de ventas.
Es el primer insumo que necesita una empresa para estimar ingresos, costos,
gastos y, en general, todos los elementos que conforman los estados financieros.
De las 4P clásicas del marketing.

Financial state.provides. information on a business current financial situation,

performance and changes in its financial position to a wide range of users, in order
to support and guide management decision-making.
El estado financiero. proporciona información sobre la situación financiera actual
de una empresa, el desempeño y los cambios en su posición financiera a una
amplia gama de usuarios, con el fin de apoyar y orientar la toma de decisiones de
gestión.
Sales forecast. It is a procedure that many companies use to establish their
objectives and organize their operational plans.
Pronóstico de ventas. Es un procedimiento que muchas empresas utilizan para
establecer sus objetivos y organizar sus planes operativos.
Financial Statemen are used by administrators or project stakeholder to interpret
and evaluate financial performance.
Los administradores o las partes interesadas del proyecto utilizan los estadistas
financieros para interpretar y evaluar el desempeño financiero.
- En la sección “Vocabulary”, escuche cuidadosamente cada definición. Luego, escoja la

 - Basado en la información contenida en el objeto de aprendizaje “Sales
forecast and financial indicators”, elabore un dialogo cuyo tema sea una
reunión de los directivos de una empresa planean el informe de
presupuesto. El dialogo debe tener por lo menos tres personajes y cada
personaje debe tener por lo menos 7 intervenciones.

Sales Manager. Good morning, today we are gathered here to plan the budget
report for the year 2022.
Business partner. It is necessary to be aware of how the company is doing to date.
shareholder. This meeting is very necessary to know how we will continue to
advance as an organization.

Sales Manager. In this meeting we will discuss topics such as the sales budget, the
pricing strategy, statements and the financial indicators of the company.
Shareholder. Regarding the sales budget, I see that we have grown and we can
plan to work harder to continue growing
Business partner, I think that if we want to continue growing we must invest more
in labor, this in order to improve production and in this way we can consider raising
the prices of products that are already well positioned.
Manager. Yes, gentlemen, I want to inform you precisely that we have planned to
open a new headquarters in the city, and with respect to the price adjustment, it will
be established with an increase of 5%.

Shareholder. I am pleased with this news and seeing how our business grows and
is positioned in the market more and more, as I have been reviewing it in the
statement of cash flows.
Business partner. If I could realize this by reading the financial report, of the
company which is very healthy, I congratulate you on your great work.
Manager, if gentlemen the latest balance sheet reflects this, we can celebrate our
achievements reaped day by day.
Shareholder. I am pleasantly surprised, since last semester we could see
substantial growth, but this is more than we expected.
Business partner. This is how last semester showed us a very positive financial
indicator
Manager. So our cash flow continues to grow very positively.
