Tea
This handout is a form of structured notes, and can
be used to introduce the concept of the imperfect
tense. Students will be exposed to imperfect subtly
—the verb forms are already provided and students
will read them as they work to fill in blanks to
describe their childhoods.

Make a copy of p. 2 for each student. Note that the

directions are not for students to complete ALL of
the questions, but 12+ in order to provide flexibility
for student personalization.

A natural progression after this activity would be to

work with the interpersonal interviews/chart, and
then finally some form-focused practice such as
Martina Bex’s imperfect notes in context.
