Kannikeganrden es un edificio que cumple la función de ser la casa parroquial de la catedral del pueblo escandinavo Ribe en Dinamarca. Esta encierra la
memoria cristina del pueblo, a través de una expresión física de la ruina. Además, de cumplir funciones programáticas de una casa parroquial como: oficinas para los
curas, pequeños conciertos, reuniones, Es también un edificio de oficinas. El edificio Kannikegarden es el resultado de un concurso que buscaba una propuesta progra-
mática mixta. Debía concentrar las funciones que requería el consejo de la parroquia y una serie de usos públicos abiertos a la comunidad. El estudio ganador de este
concurso fue Lundgaard & Tranberg Arkitekter en el año 2015.
El proyecto tuvo que enfrentarse al momento de su construcción con el hallazgo de una ruina que data del año 1100 D.C, de manera que las funciones progra-
máticas explicitas al comienzo del texto cambiaron. El edificio debía integrar ahora al programa unas ruinas encontradas, que exponían los comienzas de la cristianiza-
ción en Dinamarca. Como consecuencia de esto, la ruina encontrada se integra al edificio en un espacio de exposición en la planta 1 que deja ver a los usuarios las capas
históricas que cuentan el pueblo de Ribe. Dejando el segundo y tercer piso como los espacios contenedores de los usos públicos abiertos a la comunidad y las oficinas
de la casa parroquial. Así mismo, como el proyecto se ubica en una zona de gran carga histórica en Dinamarca, no solo religiosa sino también arquitectónico, el estudio
junto con la comunidad desarrolla baldosas cerámicas que son la piel del proyecto, tonos rojizos y marrón, con pretensión de guardar el lenguaje arquitectónico del
lugar, el color del sitio y un parecido a la forma constructiva en ladrillo, convirtiendo los elementos cerámicos en una interpretación contemporánea de las fachadas
estereotómicas en ladillo. De esta forma el volumen resultante es un volumen estereotómico que da la sensación de estar flotando en el aire, pero, realmente se sostiene
por la estructura tectónica del primer piso donde se sitúa el espacio de exposición de la ruina, compuesta de columnas de concreto, paneles de madera y vidrio.
Aunque la implantación del proyecto este sobre una ciudad con una gran historia religiosa, el edificio es contemporáneo debido a la técnica que se utiliza
para solucionar la fachada del volumen superior, el estereotómico, cerámicas descolgadas sobre rieles que crean la ilusión de un volumen que levita. Estas resoluciones
técnicas y las intenciones que logran van más allá de un capricho arquitectónico, buscando dar protagonismo a las ruinas que permanecen en la planta baja del proyecto.
La transparencia en el primer piso otorgado por las columnas de concreto que separan del suelo el volumen cerámico le da a la ruina un papel de importancia al nivel
del suelo, recibir y contar parte de la historia del pueblo de Ribe al público.
Para la gente de Ribe el edificio es importante por que como dicen ellos “es nuevo y antiguo a la vez” y esto le otorga a Ribe un nuevo icono, igual de importan-
te como todas las construcciones allí que tienen un pasado significativo. Además, la trama existente se ve aún más enriquecida con la ruina expuesta al público en la
planta 1 que realza los comienzos de la cristiandad en Ribe y toda Dinamarca junto con la catedral que se encuentra en frente del proyecto y es complementaria a este
en las actividades que desarrolla. La ilusión que da el bloque superior de estar flotando sobre las ruinas le concede al edificio una característica importante, y que los
usuarios del edificio la exaltan constantemente, la serenidad. Para ellos el edificio es un lugar de calma y tranquilidad en donde la prisa no tiene cabida.
En resumen, las características más importantes de este edificio son aquellas que hacen sentir a las personas de Ribe la sensación de estar ante algo nuevo y
antiguo a la vez, que en simultaneo pareciera estar flotando sobre las ruinas de un antiguo asentamiento cristiano que entre deja ver la historia religiosa que acaeció en
Ribe y por lo tanto en Dinamarca. Además, de la sensación de serenidad que es tan importante para los usuarios del edificio (sacerdotes, personas de la comunidad), y
es causada por el carácter simbólico que tiene el proyecto al ser el contenedor de las ruinas que hablan sobre dicho pasado.
Kannikeganrden is a building that fulfills the function of being the parish house of the cathedral of the Scandinavian village Ribe in Denmark. This encloses
the Christian memory of the people, through a physical expression of ruin. In addition, to fulfill programmatic functions of a parochial house like: offices for the priests, 5
small concerts, meetings, It is also an office building. The Kannikegarden building is the result of a contest that sought a mixed programmatic proposal. It had to

Tranberg Arkitekter in 2015.
The project had to face the moment of its construction with the finding of a ruin that dates from the year 1100 AD, so that the programmatic functions explicit
at the beginning of the text changed. The building now had to integrate some ruins found in the program, which exposed the beginnings of Christianization in Denmark.
As a result of this, the ruin found is integrated into the building in an exhibition space on floor 1 that allows users to see the historical layers that the town of Ribe has.
Leaving the second and third floors as the container spaces of public uses open to the community and the offices of the parish house. Likewise, as the project is located
in an area of great historical importance in Denmark, not only religious but also architectural, the study together with the community develops ceramic tiles that are the
skin of the project, reddish and brown tones, with the intention of keeping the architectural language of the place, the color of the site and a resemblance to the
constructive form in brick, turning the ceramic elements into a contemporary interpretation of the stereotomic facades in Ladillo. In this way the resulting volume is a
stereotomic volume that gives the sensation of floating in the air, but is actually supported by the tectonic structure of the first floor where the exhibition space of the
ruin, composed of concrete columns, is located. wood and glass panels.
Although the implementation of the project is on a city with a great religious history, the building is contemporary due to the technique used to solve the
façade of the upper volume, the stereotomic, ceramics hanging on rails that create the illusion of a volume that levitates . These technical resolutions and the intentions 6
that they achieve go beyond an architectural caprice, seeking to give prominence to the ruins that remain on the ground floor of the project. The transparency on the
first floor given by the concrete columns that separate the ceramic volume from the ground gives the ruin a role of importance at ground level, receiving and telling part
of the history of the town of Ribe to the public.
For the people of Ribe the building is important because as they say "it is new and old at the same time" and this gives Ribe a new icon, just as important as
all the constructions there that have a significant past. In addition, the existing plot is further enriched by the ruin exposed to the public on the 1st floor that highlights
the beginnings of Christianity in Ribe and all of Denmark together with the cathedral that is in front of the project and is complementary to it in the activities that it
develops. The illusion that the upper block of floating on the ruins gives the building an important characteristic, and that the users of the building constantly exalt it,
the serenity. For them the building is a place of calm and tranquility where haste has no place.
In summary, the most important characteristics of this building are those that make Ribe feel the sensation of being before something new and ancient at the
same time, that at the same time seems to be floating on the ruins of an ancient Christian settlement that leaves between see the religious history that happened in Ribe
and therefore in Denmark. In addition, the sense of serenity that is so important for users of the building (priests, people from the community), and is caused by the
symbolic character of the project to be the container of the ruins that speak about this past.
