Esas reglas sern muy tiles en un idioma como el ingls, que es muy utilizado y no
siempre podemos disponer de un diccionario.
La orientacin de la asignatura es muy prctica, por esa razn es importante que el
alumno trabaje con todas las actividades del material que le sea posible. Hay ciertos
aspectos que solo se pueden aprender practicando.
En ingls no hay una relacin de uno a uno en cuanto al sistema de escritura y el sistema
de pronunciacin: hay 26 letras o grafemas en el abecedario, de las cuales 5 son
vocales y 21 son consonantes, pero estas letras nos pueden dar, en lenguaje oral, 44
fonemas o sonidos. Eso significa que algunas letras se pueden pronunciar de distintas
formas y producen varios sonidos en diferentes contextos fonticos.

Normalmente los sonidos de las vocales cambian segn el contexto fontico; podemos
encontrar hasta 20 sonidos diferentes como puedes ver en la parte de arriba de la tabla.
