I. DESCRIPCIN DEL CURSO:

El curso Comunicacin Comercial I forma parte del bloque de materias del quinto
ciclo del Bachillerato en Ingls como Lengua Extranjera de la Universidad Tcnica
Nacional. Su principal nfasis es el lenguaje tcnico de los negocios. A lo largo del
curso el estudiante desarrolla la capacidad de estructurar los documentos comerciales
ms comunes en ese idioma. Este curso desarrolla la capacidad de crear discusiones
importantes, planear y organizar eventos relevantes de una compaa como lo son las
presentaciones, reuniones, conferencias, al tiempo que le permite al estudiante
enfrentarse a diversas situaciones como llamadas telefnicas, transferencias de
llamadas, comunicacin entre culturas, entre otras.
El curso se desarrolla en un cuatrimestre (14 semanas lectivas) y consta de 4
lecciones semanales de 50 minutos de duracin. Este curso no ofrece la opcin de ser
aprobado mediante examen extraordinario o prueba de ampliacin. Tanto la
evaluacin como la metodologa tienen un enfoque comunicativo e integrador.
Para matricular este curso es necesario haber aprobado Ingls Integrado IV y
Composicin Inglesa I.

II. OBJETIVOS GENERALES:

1. Desarrollar las habilidades de comunicacin oral y escrita necesarias para
comunicarse de una manera formal y efectiva en el contexto laboral en reuniones,
conversaciones telefnicas o en cualquier otra situacin o actividad del mundo de
las empresas o negocios mediante el estudio del lenguaje comercial comn, el
anlisis y puesta en prctica de actividades de promocin y oferta de productos,
servicios, empresas e ideas.

2. Integrar los conocimientos y habilidades bsicas de comunicacin oral y escrita
adquiridos mediante el desarrollo de actividades semi-controladas y no
controladas para promover el pensamiento crtico en el contexto laboral.
3. Brindar al estudiante la oportunidad de desarrollar su capacidad de valorar las
diferencias culturales que puedan surgir en el ambiente laboral, mostrando respeto
y tolerancia.

III. OBJETIVOS ESPECFICOS:

1. Crear y reconocer las principales diferencias entre los documentos de mayor uso
para la comunicacin dentro de la empresa utilizando el formato apropiado.
2. Elaborar en forma clara y concisa la hoja de vida, cartas y correos electrnicos con
diferentes propsitos comerciales.
3. Demostrar respeto, tolerancia y cortesa al comunicarse en forma oral y escrita con
individuos u organizaciones de diferentes culturas.
4. Familiarizarse y utilizar los conceptos, trminos y expresiones comunes en los
negocios de manera apropiada.
5. Emplear destrezas y habilidades comunicativas que le permitan recibir y tramitar
quejas post-venta.
6. Aplicar el vocabulario y habilidades necesarias para elaborar y llevar a cabo una
entrevista de trabajo.

IV. METODOLOGA:

La metodologa es comunicativa e interactiva en donde el docente asume el
papel de facilitador del proceso y el estudiante es responsable de llevar a cabo las
actividades propias del aprendizaje que le permitan comprender y aplicar de manera
precisa y espontnea el vocabulario, las habilidades y competencias necesarias para
desempearse con fluidez en los distintos contextos comerciales. El estudiante ser
autor de su propio aprendizaje y el responsable de transmitirlo a sus compaeros a
travs de la puesta en prctica y simulacin de situaciones, la elaboracin de cartas,
hojas de vida, reportes, discusiones, el intercambio de informacin y la investigacin
individual y grupal.

V. CONTENIDOS TEMTICOS:

1. Lenguaje comercial.
2. Habilidades y tcnicas comunicativas bsicas para interactuar con personas en
diferentes situaciones de negocios.
3. Habilidades y tcnicas para la elaboracin y el manejo de correspondencia
comercial (Cartas y Correos electrnicos).
4. Habilidades y tcnicas bsicas para la elaboracin de reportes, notas y resmenes
ejecutivos.
5. Lugar de trabajo: poltica de empleo, actividades de la compaa, estructura

organizativa e historia.
6. Cmo pedir y proveer bienes y/o servicios: elaborar y dar respuesta a pedidos
comerciales, ofertas y solicitudes de servicios.
7. Planteamiento y manejo de quejas, entregas y situaciones post-venta.
8. Viajes y negocios: reservaciones de hoteles, restaurantes, etc.
9. Reuniones formales e informales efectivas.
10. Elaboracin de y participacin en una entrevista de trabajo.
11. Elaboracin de la hoja de vida.
12. Que es la responsabilidad social en las organizaciones.
13. Conceptos bsicos de calidad total.


VI. EVALUACIN:

El estudiante demuestra los conocimientos y habilidades comunicativas que se
requieren para:

1. Elaborar y comprender documentos comerciales (cartas, correos electrnicos).
2. Elaborar la hoja de vida.
3. Comunicarse en forma oral y escrita con individuos u organizaciones de diferentes
culturas.
4. Utilizar los conceptos, trminos y expresiones comunes en los negocios de
manera apropiada.
5. Recibir y tramitar quejas post-venta.
