La salud financiera de los bancos comerciales de
Honduras, a través de los resultados que se obtuvieron en
los estados financieros. (Balance general y estado de
resultado).
Se desarrolla por medio de:

enfocándonos en los indicadores financieros que proyectan el
capital, la rentabilidad y la administración de los mismos en los
años anteriormente mencionados.

INTRODUCCIÓN
A la medida que pasan los años, la actividad financiera a nivel mundial sufre cambios significativos de transformación
en diferentes aspectos. Cuando hablamos de sistemas financiero se está refiriendo al conjunto de instituciones o
intermediarios financieros, relacionados entre sí directa o indirectamente, que recogen el ahorro transitoriamente
ocioso y lo ofrece a los demandantes de crédito (CNBS, 2019).
En este informe se desarrolla un análisis financiero del sistema financiero hondureño, enfocándose en la información
brindada por la Comisión Nacional de Bancos y Seguros, utilizando los resultados obtenidos en el balance general y
estado de resultados de los bancos comerciales en los años 2018 y 2019.
Este análisis está basado en los indicadores financieros del Método CAMEL, específicamente los que proporcionan
información del capital, rentabilidad y administración de estos. Además, se agrega un análisis horizontal y vertical de
los mismos como valor agregado a la investigación.

OBJETIVOS
Objetivo General
Desarrollar un análisis financiero de los bancos comerciales de Honduras en los años 2018 y 2019 por medio
de diferentes técnicas de medición efectivas.
Objetivos Específicos
1. Calcular los índices del método CAMEL para determinar el desempeño financiero de los bancos comerciales
de Honduras en los años 2018 y 2019.
2. Determinar el grado de capital, rentabilidad y administración de los bancos comerciales de Honduras en los
años 2018 y 2019.
3. Realizar un análisis horizontal y vertical de los estados financieros de los bancos comerciales de Honduras
en los años 2018 y 2019 para comparar los resultados obtenidos en ambos análisis financieros realizados.
01 Sistemas financieros
El sistema financiero está constituido por un conjunto de

instrumentos financieros, mercados, intermediarios y órganos
rectores que conforman la estructura del mismo. Los flujos
financieros que provienen de los ahorradores o excedentarias
que integran el sistema financiero son canalizados hacia las
unidades que necesitan de esos recursos financieros, siendo la
canalización de cada uno de esos fondos la función principal
del sistema financiero. (CEUPE, 2018).
Buján (2014), afirma que en términos generales hay cuatro tipos
principales de instituciones financieras:
- Instituciones de depósito: entidades que aceptan y manejan
depósitos y hacen préstamos. Por ejemplo, las cajas de ahorros,
los bancos, las cooperativas, sociedades fiduciarias y compañías
de préstamos hipotecarios.
- Financieras: Estas no ofrecen servicio de depósito a los
clientes, solamente se dedican a dar préstamos, su financiación
depende de entidades de crédito o mercados financieros.
- Instituciones contractuales: Las compañías de seguros y
fondos de pensiones.
- Instituciones de inversión: Bancos de inversión,
aseguradores (p. 3).

EL CAPITAL (C)
Llevar un seguimiento de los indicadores del capital permite medir la solidez de una institución y su
posible capacidad para enfrentar choques y perdidas futuras no anticipadas.
Para medir el nivel de Suficiencia del Capital o Patrimonio (C) se utilizan dos indicadores financieros:
C1 = (Patrimonio + Gastos de Operación) / Activo Total
Para el indicador C1 se establece como un mínimo el 10%. Mide la participación que registra el
patrimonio más la gestión operativa del período en el financiamiento de los recursos propios y ajenos.
C2 = Activo Improductivo/ (Patrimonio + Gastos de Personal + Gastos de Operación)
Esta relación señala el grado en que el patrimonio más la Gestión Operativa (Gastos de personal +
Gastos de Operación) de la entidad están comprometidos en el financiamiento de los activos no
generadores de ingresos por concepto de interés y comisiones o que están fuera de la normativa legal.
LOS ACTIVOS (A)
Constituyen los recursos económicos con los cuales cuenta una empresa espera beneficien en
operaciones futuras.
A1 = Provisión para Cartera de Créditos/Cartera de Créditos Bruta:
A1 demuestra la suficiencia de provisiones con cargo a sus resultados, que ha creado la institución
para respaldar su cartera ante posibles contingencias que se puedan presentar.
A2 = Cartera Inmovilizada Bruta / Cartera de Créditos Bruta:
Cuantifica el porcentaje de la cartera de crédito inmovilizada con relación a la cartera de créditos
bruta. El índice refleja los créditos que pueden concluir en pérdidas por insolvencia del cliente.
LA ADMINISTRACIÓN (M)
Es un factor clave para la permanencia de la institución dentro del sector, por lo cual su política
y estrategia de llevarse a cabo correctamente permite alcanzar niveles de eficiencia,
sostenibilidad y crecimiento.
M1 = (Gastos de Personal + Gastos Operativos) / Activos Productivos Promedio:
M1 es un indicador asociado con la eficiencia administrativa al medir la relación existente entre
la suma de los gastos de personal y los gastos operativos de la institución respecto al activo
productivo promedio de que dispone este
M2 = (Gastos de Personal + Gastos Operativos) / Ingresos Financieros:
M2 es un indicador de eficiencia que mide el gasto promedio que percibe el banco en su
operación fundamental de intermediación en el crédito y la inversión.
LA RENTABILIDAD (E)
Es el objetivo final de cualquier institución financiera, las utilidades reflejan la eficiencia y

proporcionan recursos para aumentar el capital y así permitir el continuo crecimiento

E1 permite determinar la capacidad generadora de rentas del activo de la entidad, guardando su
cuantía estrecha relación con la calidad o la capacidad de retorno de este último.
E2 = Resultado Neto / Patrimonio Promedio:
E2 mide el rendimiento del patrimonio de la entidad, una vez efectuadas las transferencias
necesarias. Muestra la tasa de retorno de la inversión hecha por los socios e informa también sobre
el comportamiento general del banco como actividad empresarial.
LA LIQUIDEZ (L)
A pesar de ser uno de los objetivos principales de cualquier empresa, en el caso de las
instituciones financieras toma mayor importancia debido a que atiendo constantemente demandas
de efectivo por parte de sus clientes.

L2 está compuesto por los títulos valores de la nación que se encuentran contabilizados en la

Según los resultados obtenidos al realizar estos cálculos nos damos cuenta que para
el año 2019 este indicador presenta un aumento en la cantidad de veces en que su
pasivo está por encima de su capital reflejando esto un problema para los bancos
comerciales.

Al observar los resultados obtenido en este indicador vemos que este ha tenido

largo plazo.

porcentaje de 18.8% y en 2018 obtuvo un 17.9 % lo cual muestra un diferencial

Este indicador refleja que los bancos comerciales para el 2019 muestran un incremento en
el rendimiento del patrimonio ya que el ROE para 2019 es de 12.48 lo que significa que el
retorno del capital de los accionistas será más rápido en comparación con el año 2018 que

institución es buena según la escala internacional la cual menciona que el
resultado de esta aritmética debe ser mayor a 1% para el año 2019 los bancos

argumentar que es aceptable.

positiva para ambos años, teniendo una disminución significativa de 0.07 lo que

representan un 2.45 en 2018 y un 2.52 en 2019 Vemos un aumento en relación al
año anterior de un 0.07 lo que significa que aumento el egreso financiero
proveniente de las obligaciones, aunque aumentaron los depósitos, pero es
necesario tratar de disminuir dicho egreso.

Se presenta un incremento en la utilidad neta del 2019 por tanto se reduce el

indicador en comparación con el 2019 lo que significa que el gasto del personal
incremento, pero el aumento en la utilidad contribuyo a que el índice fuese

Se realizó un análisis vertical y Horizontal para el sistema financiero hondureño para los
años 2019 y 2018.
Análisis vertical del Estado de resultado:
• Los Gastos financieros corresponden el 40% de los productos Financieros para el año
2019. Para el año 2018 representan un 37%
• La utilidad Financiera representa 60% y 63% de los productos Financieros para el año
2019 y año 2018 respectivamente.
• Préstamo, Descuentos y Negociaciones representan el 69.5% para el año 2019 y para
el año 2018 representan un 71%
• Las comisiones representan un 12.3% y 12% para el año 2019 y 2018 respectivamente.
• Gastos de Administración representan el 32.82% y 34.37% para el año 2019 y 2018
respectivamente.
• La utilidad neta para ambos años es de un 10% para ambos años sobre los productos
financieros.
Análisis Horizontal del Estado de Resultado:
• Las ventas para el 2019 son de .58, 910.9 y de 51,623.4 en 2018 donde se refleja un incremento de 7, 287 que
representa un aumento de 14% para el año 2019.
• El arrendamiento financiero aumento un 20.0 que refleja un incremento de 184%.
Análisis vertical del Balance General:

• Los depósitos del Banco central de Honduras representan un 10.59% de los activos para el año 2019 y para el
año 2018 representa un 14.19%
• Inversiones Financieras representan el 9.95% de los activos para el año 2019 y para el año 2018.
• Los prestamos e intereses representan el 56.35% y 56.11% de los activos para 2019 y 2018 respectivamente.
• Los activos contingentes representan el 16% de los activos totales para ambos años.
• Los depósitos representan el 78% de los pasivos para el 2019 y para el 2018 representan el 77% de los
pasivos.
Análisis horizontal del Balance General:
• Los Depósitos en Instituciones Financieras del Exterior se redujeron en comparación al año 2018 con -11% de
diferencia para el año 2019.
• Los Depósitos en Instituciones Financieras del Interior aumento en comparación al año 2018 con un 42% de
diferencia positiva para el año 2019.
• En los activos la cuenta de Acciones y Participaciones aumento un 940% con respecto al año 2018.ç
• En las obligaciones bancarias la cuenta Instrumentos Financieros derivados aumento un 98% y las
Obligaciones por Activos Arrendados disminuyo un 71%.
CONCLUSIONES
• Se desarrolló un análisis financiero de los bancos comerciales de Honduras
Para medir su situación financiera con respecto al año 2018-2019 a través de indicadores que
miden la salud de las instituciones financieras y todos sus componentes a nivel de capital, activos,
administración, ganancias y liquidez además de los análisis que permiten evaluar las variaciones
que sufren los resultados año con años y el nivel de valor de cada una de sus líneas de cuentas en
los estados financieros bancarios.
• La evaluación financiera de los bancos Comerciales se desarrolló a través del método CAMEL
que es un examen que realiza el sistema financiero para calificar y conocer la situación financiera
de los bancos y el grado de exposición que tienen los mismos en sus actividades.
• Se determinó que los bancos comerciales para el periodo de 2018-2019 presentan lo siguiente según la
medición CAMEL:
I. Capital: la adecuación del capital es muy buena según la escala de CAMEL para los bancos comerciales
ya que tiene una buena capacidad para absorber perdidas, en relación a la suficiencia de capital refleja un
incremento para el 2019 en el número de veces en que su pasivo está por encima de su capital lo que significa
que tiene o pueden llegar a un exceso de obligaciones.
II. Activos: Los activos contingentes muestran disminución al evaluarlos contra los activos totales con el fin
de obtener mayor disponibilidad de activos.
III. La administración: los bancos comerciales reflejan para el año 2019 una mejoría a consecuencia de una
disminución de gastos administrativos al comparar con los activos productivos.
IV. Rentabilidad: el ROE para el 2019 fue de 12.48 en comparación al año anterior muestra un incremento en
el rendimiento del patrimonio lo que significa que el retorno del capital de los accionistas es más rápido con
respecto al año anterior, los bancos comerciales para el 2019 bajaron su capacidad generadora de renta de
activos ya que hay una capacidad baja de retribución, los ingresos productivos para el 2019 bajaron con
respecto a sus ingresos financieros.
V. Liquidez: al medir las disponibilidades entre activos totales se obtuvo que para el 2019 hubo una
reducción, esto afecta ya que los depósitos en instituciones financieras del exterior se reducen.
• Se realizó un valor agregado a la investigación elaborando un análisis vertical de los estados
financieros de los bancos comerciales con el fin de obtener una mayor información acerca de la
situación financiera de los bancos según sus Estados Financieros, los gastos financieros corresponden
el 40% de los productos Financieros para el año 2019. Para el año 2018 representan un 37% la utilidad
Financiera representa 60% y 63% de los productos Financieros para el año 2019 y año 2018

RECOMENDACIONES
• Se recomienda que los bancos comerciales disminuyan el exceso de obligaciones por
que están por encima de su capital para el año 2019 ya que el sistema financiero establece
que las instituciones financieras no pueden tener exceso de obligaciones del equivalente de
10 veces mayor a su capital y según el análisis financiero CAMEL se determinó que los
bancos comerciales muestran 11.41 veces para el 2019 y en el 2018 fue de 11.23
• Debido a que la liquidez de los bancos es un factor fundamental se recomienda que los
bancos comerciales elaboren mejores políticas que les permitan tener una mayor liquidez sin
sacrificar su rentabilidad porque esto puede generar malos resultados al final de cada
periodo ya que los bancos como cualquier institución buscan obtener mayores ganancias.
