PLENARY 1: GLOBALLY ENGAGING STUDENTS WITH MULTINATIONAL
PERSPECTIVES USING VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITIES

Abstract
As it has been experienced, the learning in different environments and
methods (between traditional and occasionally innovative) but the outcomes
of learning have never been achieved successfully considering the students’
individuality, global citizenship and connectivity with the real life.
Pre-pandemic, during Covid-19 and post pandemic phases in school
education disclosed the true realities of traditional thinking and practices in
the classroom and lack of connectivity and engagement with the essential
technological tools and solutions.

It is not possible to distance our students learning design from future


challenges and Futurology, which does demand technological ideology to
get engaged.

private schools in bilingual and
pedagogical strategies for 4 years.

British council external consultant for schools in the past 2 months. Mr. Iqbal
has been leading bilingual and international curriculum projects in Peru for
last fifteen years. As well, he is helping student and families in career
counselling, entrepreneurship. As well since March 2020 he has conducted
interviews with more than 600 families/ parents to help them in student’s
leadership skills building.

WORKSHOP 1: GETTING THE MOST OUT OF ARTIFICIAL
INTELLIGENCE

Abstract
With the incorporation of computing devices in our classrooms, one of the
biggest issues that arises is tackling students’ malpractices in classes due to
AI overuse, causing us teachers to ban or even satanize it instead of getting
the most out of that handful resource.

I am going to focus on ensuring educators’ expertise on how to take


advantage of AI to enhance our classes while planning and applying a
lesson, or to overcome a mental block.

Mr. Guzman has more than ten years of
experience in teaching English at
different levels. Bachelor’s degree in
language education.

He is a Main Suite Speaking Examiner for


Cambridge University. Holds the
Certificates of C1 Advanced, TKT and TKT
YL, and a diploma on Learning to Talk by
Talking by Harvard Graduate School of
Education.

Cambridge exam trainer and IB English


teacher for San Agustín school and exam
trainer for English Tower Cambridge Prep. Centre. Former teacher for
Algarrobos school and ICPNA. Former head of the English department at
Algarrobos school.

He’s currently specializing his work on teaching youth applying ICT tools and
gamifying English classrooms.
WORKSHOP 2: FOSTERING OUR STUDENTS’ SOFT SKILLS BY
PLAYING GAMES IN CLASS

Abstract
When education is boring, there is no engagement happening. Essentially,
no learning happens and one of the reasons for using games in class is to
increase our students’ engagement and motivate them to take part in their
learning process actively.

There are countless skills that students can develop through game playing
such as critical thinking skills, creativity and teamwork. During this workshop,
I will be sharing some resources and strategies, which can be used in our
daily teaching practice in order to make our lessons much more interactive
and meaningful.

Ms. Olivo holds a degree in Education
(Foreign Languages) from Universidad
Nacional Pedro Ruiz Gallo. Holds the
Cambridge First Certificate in English
(FCE), the certificate of English language
proficiency of Michigan university- USA,
a certificate of International English for
speakers of other languages (IESOL) of
City and Guilds, Teaching knowledge
test (TKT); a Certificate on How to teach
Science from Dayton University- USA
and a Diploma in theoretical
approaches and methods for teaching
English as Foreign Language from
Universidad de Piura.
Ms. Olivo is a certified Google trainer with broad teaching experience in
bilingual subjects such as ICT, Science, Personal Social and Global
Perspectives as well. Currently, she works as Academic advisor for the
Foreign Languages Department at San Agustin School.
WORKSHOP 3: TECH TOOLS TO ENHANCE OUR STUDENTS’
COMMUNICATIVE SKILLS

Abstract
Technology has become an important tool when delivering our class sessions.
After virtual education enabled our students to keep learning during pandemic
times, it is undeniable that education and technology have created a bond.

In this workshop, I will be sharing a number of tools, which will help you
optimize your students’ learning process in a simple but interactive way,
brushing up our students’ communicative skills.

Ms. Adrianzén holds a Master Degree in


Education from Universidad de Piura; she
has also obtained international
certifications from Cambridge ESOL and
has been working in the ELT field for more
than 20 years.

She has been a teacher of English at all


levels, from kindergarten to adults, a
teacher trainer preparing teachers to sit
International Exams apart from training
them in specific courses in the primary
and secondary level. In the past 20 years,
she has also been working as a professor
at Universidad de Piura and a
coordinator in a prestigious bilingual
school.
