Objetivos Generales
Que el alumno sea capaz de:
Apreciar el valor de la enseñanza de la Literatura en una clase de Inglés como lengua
extranjera
Desarrollar el hábito de lectura, como recurso para el perfeccionamiento, la ampliación
permanente y el autocontrol del progreso del dominio lingüístico.
Objetivos Específicos
Que el alumno sea capaz de:
Aplicar estrategias tendientes a desarrollar la competencia literaria y el pensamiento
crítico en sus futuros alumnos.
Seleccionar el material adecuado y diseñar actividades apropiadas de acuerdo a las
características de los grupos de alumnos.
Seleccionar y analizar metodologías y material pedagógico para la enseñanza de la LCE
teniendo en cuenta las particularidades contextuales de la Argentina a fin de elaborar
propuestas de enseñanza innovadoras acordes al enfoque intercultural
Identificar, seleccionar e incorporar estrategias y actividades comunicativas propias de la
LCE y sus correspondientes fundamentaciones epistemológicas.
Enmarcar históricamente y socialmente las manifestaciones culturales para comprender
el contexto que da lugar a los mismos
Analizar críticamente los distintos enfoques de enseñanza que favorezcan los
intercambios plurilingües y pluriculturales
Discutir con sus pares teorías de agrupamiento de las obras literarias (por autores,
movimientos, géneros, temáticas) e hipotetizar acerca de su productividad en las
prácticas de la enseñanza de la literatura
Identificar cánones literarios de la LCE y la propia, analizar su carácter histórico e
ideológico, distinguir criterios de constitución.
Observar clases, informar y registrar observaciones de campo.
Integrar la diversidad en el aula de LCE.
Tratar el error como parte constitutiva del aprendizaje y planificar acciones remediales.

Unit 1
Using literature in the language classroom:
Distinctive characteristics of the language of literature. The reader and the text. What is literary
competence?.Its importance for language teachers and students. Reasons to use literature in the
language classroom. Literature in the School Foreign-Language Course. Reading Skills and the
study of Literature in a Foreign Language Classroom. Literature in the EFL classroom. Breath v.
depth.
Unit 2
Approaches to using literature in the language classroom:
a) A language-based approach, b) Literature as content, c) Literature for personal enrichment:
methodological assumptions and selection of material for each of them.

Unit 3
Selecting and evaluating materials:
Selecting texts according to students’ traits. Criteria for text selection: the students’ cultural
background; the students’ linguistic proficiency; the students’ literary background; general availability
of the printed text; representative selection of the texts; familiar/established/canonical text v.
unfamiliar/not widely-known text; restricted selection v. free selection; related or unrelated to the
country or culture of the reader; contemporary/ modern v. not modern texts; conceptually easy for
readers v. conceptually difficult for readers; complete works v. extract; taught for its own sake without
overt connection with other texts v. part of a series of an author or period; selected for theme or
subject matter v. selected for genre. Evaluation of learning materials which make use of literature
texts.

Cumplimiento en los trabajos requeridos en tiempo y forma

Examen Recuperatorio: julio

Sistema de promoción (Resolución Nº 1455/14)
De acuerdo al Artículo 20. Promoción con examen final. Las condiciones de acreditación son las
siguientes: a) Cumplir el 60% de asistencia b) Acreditar con 4 (cuatro) evaluaciones parciales.
Las evaluaciones parciales tendrán dos (2) recuperatorios.
La regularización se dará cuando se cumple el porcentaje de asistencia y el promedio entre las
evaluaciones parciales o el recuperatorio que la reemplace sea igual o más de 6 (seis) conforme
a lo establecido en el art. 23°.
El estudiante que no alcance el porcentaje mínimo exigido o no logre el promedio equivalente a 6
(seis) tendrá la posibilidad de rendir en condición de libre.
