Abstract de La Tesis 2021
Throughout history, human trafficking has emerged as one of the most lucrative illicit
businesses of all time, beginning in Latin America in colonization, within the context of
slavery, the so-called Trafficking of People, which basically is to extract a person from their
close environment to take them to a different place to be exploited in various ways. Women
as a vulnerable group have been enslaved throughout history, normally this activity
developed around their sexuality or their industriousness within the home environment,
depriving them of all traces of human dignity, which is why at the beginning of the 20th
century various laws were issued that globally protected women as victims of this type of
practice and established special protection considering this as a victim in a special situation
of vulnerability to these practices, it is then that the Ecuadorian State assumes these
regulations within of its internal legislation and establishes various programs in order to
protect the rights of victims of the crime of trafficking in persons, these being taken by
reason of the International Human Rights Instruments, but applied without considering their
effective compliance within current Ecuadorian legislation.
