ARTERIAL PRESSURE

It is defined as the force that the blood exerts against the arterial walls
Generally this pressure is recorded as two numbers as we see it on the screen.

• The first the top number called systolic blood pressure caused by the contraction of the
heart muscle.
• Second the lower number called diastolic arterial pressure that occurs when the heart
relaxes.
