Let’s get started
Better future for businesses

Many countries in the world are starting to vaccinate people against

the coronavirus. It will probably have an impact on people’s behavior and
on businesses, too.
The biggest impact will be for the energy business. People will start to travel
more, fly and use their cars, which will increase the demand for petrol or fuel and oil.
People will probably use less information technology because they will not work
from homes so much, and they will have fewer online meetings. Also, restaurants will
reopen and the demand for some agricultural products will grow. These products will
be, for example, coffee or sugar.

The oldest painting

Scientists found a painting which they believe is the oldest animal painting
in the world.
The painting was in a cave, in a valley up in the mountains of the Indonesian
island of Sulawesi. It was very close to a big city, but it was not easy to get
to the place.
Scientists were very lucky because there was a mineral on the painting.
Thanks to it, scientists could use a special method to find out how old the painting
was. They found out that it was 45,500 years old.
The painting showed a wild pig with a head, tail, and legs. There were
two human hands next to it.

People eat less chocolate

People in the US and Europe eat less chocolate which has an impact on cocoa
bean farmers in Africa.
The Ivory Coast is a country in West Africa, and it is one of the biggest producers
of cocoa beans. People use cocoa beans to make chocolate and when the demand for
chocolate falls, farmers do not sell their beans. African farmers have more than
100,000 tons of cocoa beans which they are not able to sell. They do not get money
for their crops which means that they do not have enough money to pay for school
for their children.
European and US buyers want to slow business with the farmers, but they
do not realize what an impact it has on them.

Bali beaches full of plastic

Bali is a popular Indonesian island and thousands of tourists visit it every year.
Sadly, the island has a big problem with plastic waste on its beaches.
When the monsoon season starts, strong waves bring tons of plastic to Bali’s
beaches. This happens every year, but authorities say that this year is much worse
than previous years. Indonesian workers clean between 30 and 60 tons of plastic
every day.
At this time of year, Bali is usually full of tourists. The coronavirus pandemic
made it almost impossible to travel to many destinations, so there are only a few
tourists on Bali.
