PLURAL NOUNS
En inglés los nombres forman el plural añadiendo –s, pero hay algunas
excepciones.
1.-A los nombres acabados en –o, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x se les añade –ES.
Examples:
tomato tomatoes
kiss kisses
brush brushes
watch watches
box boxes
2. Los nombres que terminan en “y”; si les precede una consonante se les añade –ies.
Examples:
Baby babies
Lady ladies
Los nombres que terminan en “y” precediéndoles una vocal se les añade –s.
Examples:
Day days
Boy boys.
3.- Los sustantivos que terminan en –f, -fe se convierten en plural cambiando la
–f por –ves
Examples:
Wife wives
Wolf wolves
Life lives.

CARDINAL NUMBERS
En el inglés americano se suele usar el guión ( - ) para separar las decenas .También se
acostumbra en grandes números la coma ( , ) para separar miles millones, etc.
Examples:
1, 412, 605 one million, four hundred twelve thousand ,six hundred five
twenty-one
YEARS
Normalmente decimos un año en dos partes. En el caso de años que terminan en “00”
mencionamos “hundred” para la segunda parte . Después del 2000 se lee en forma
normal.
