PSICOPATOLOGIA DEL AMOR
La feniletilamina descubierta por el
psiquiatra Leibowitz es la responsable
química del enamoramiento. Esta es una
sustancia parecida a las anfetaminas. En
un primer momento se siente gran euforia, pero
cuando desaparece nos deja en un estado de
desasosiego, esto es provoca un gran vacío. Si el
amor prosigue se pasa a una segunda etapa en la
que se continua segregando sustancias similares a
la morfina, como son las endorfinas y las
encefalinas, dotando a las parejas estables
de sensaciones de gran seguridad, paz y
calma.

An individual who displays addictive love will pursue the person as an object of their obsession despite causing
2. problems, whereas the individual who hasa healthy romantic attachment will notice the adverse consequences
and disengage fom the pursuit.

Love addiction however, does not manifest with physical withdrawal symptoms as severe as from drug addiction, yet it still
demonstrates withdrawal symptoms. The loveaddicted individual needs the fix from the partner of desire, whether that be through
3. communication, physical touch, seeing the person, or another medium.

When under stress, the love addict relies on the partner and when the partner
is absent, the love addict becomes stressed.
