WOMEN ARE PILLARS of society. In everyday life, each one from her
trench does the corresponding work to transmute social and individu-
al voids that surround this chaotic logic. There are multiple scenarios
in which we make ourselves present, impregnating the existence that
is experienced from androcentric, unequal and violent ideological con-
structs with meaning.
This work consists of five photographs taken before and after the
covid-19 pandemic; demonstrating that in the face of adversity we con-
tinue to stand up and resist. A feminine essence is embodied that does
not romanticize daily exploitation, but rather seeks the recognition of
women in the human evolutionary process.
Putting statistics on the table, we find data from the most recent
INEGI study, which mentions that seven out of ten unemployed by the
pandemic in Mexico are women; this highlights the urgent social need to
build a libertarian, self-managed and local economic culture to provide
support to the families most affected during this process of global crisis.
The function of the image as a creator of narratives, on this oc-
casion offers a tribute to the portrayed women, who were captured in
their daily routines at the service of citizens in Toluca, State of Mexico.
Through these photographs, a call is made to the corresponding author-
ities in this country in charge of ensuring our labor rights, since in the
face of emerging events, accompaniment is required, as well as safe
and dignified spaces to continue with this fight for survival, whose ob-
jective is the deconstruction of sharp scenes in search of a better quality
of life for everyone.
