information can be obtained through lawyers, banks or government agencies.

Foreign manufacturers and trade associations enact laws to be able to sell, it is necessary to
identify the standards before the product is manufactured, or to modify the product before it is
shipped; These are evidenced by certain markings on the product such as “JIS” (Japan) “CSA”
(Canada) Products that do not have the markings will be subject to seizure and the imposition of
fines.

2) Foreign customs laws

Many countries impose penalties for infringement on imports, the export destination countries
may have quotas on the amount of products they can import and must identify the amount of
customs duties that said product has, determining if the classification and tariff rate is beneficial.
to resell at the same price in the country.

3) Government contracting.

Government purchases can qualify for customs duties, quotas or exemptions from import licenses,
often involving specialized procedures and documentation.

4) Buy American equivalent

Government agencies enact regulations designed to give preferential treatment to manufactured

products supplied by manufacturers in their own country.

Through the central bank or the government, some countries have systems designed to limit the
amount of currency used to buy foreign products.

6) Value added taxes

Goods imported in some countries, in addition to customs duties, must pay a value added tax
when they are in the production or distribution stage when the importer marks or resells the
merchandise collects the tax from the buyer and then remits it to the tax authorities.
