Teodoro thinks he’s found a way to be rich and happy without working. Do you agree?
Rules:
1. Only the first verb agrees with the subject.
2. Deber, necesitar, desear, querer, pensar, poder, saber, are completed by the infinitive form of
the verb that follows, infinitives end ar, er, or ir.
3. Poder means can, to be able in a strictly physical sense. Saber means can or to know how in
the sense of possessing a skill or talent.

B. The infinitive form of the verb follows ir a and tener que.
Rules:
1. Tener que followed by the inifinitive means to have to or must and indicates strong obligation.
Deber (should, ought) is milder. Tener agrees with is subject. Que has no English translation in
This idiomatic expresión.
2. Ir a followed by the infinitive tells what you are going to do in the immediate future. Ir agrees
with is sucject; a has no translation here.
