✘ Su función principal es aumentar la rapidez de
transferencia de calor por convección entre un solido
y el fluido circundante.
Maneras de aumentar la transferencia de calor por
convección:
✘ Aumentando el coeficiente convectivo (h). P/e: Un
ventilador.
✘ Disminuir la temperatura en los alrededores (T∞). Lo
cual es costoso y poco práctico.
✘ Aumentar el área de transferencia de calor por
convección usando aletas. (El más apropiado)

✘ Son utilizados en motores, intercambiadores de
calor, transformadores, equipos de aire
acondicionado.

✘ Se usan cuando el coeficiente de transferencia de

calor por convección (h) es pequeño.
