CONCEPTO
Las estructuras de datos es una rama de las ciencias de la
computación que estudia y aplica diferentes formas de organizar
información dentro de una aplicación, para manipular, buscar e
insertar estos datos de manera eficiente.

ARRAYS
Los arrays son una estructura que almacena los datos
un elemento al lado del otro. En la mayoría de
lenguajes de programación esta estructura de datos es
de tamaño fijo y no puede guardar datos de diferentes
tipos, es decir no puedo guardar valores numéricos y
booleanos al mismo tiempo, aunque claramente hay
excepciones, por ejemplo: Javascript.

Permite representar un grupo de elementos
presentados como una secuencia.

Ventajas de una lista frente a
un array

❑ Los nodos no tienen por qué guardarse todos juntos en

memoria, como ocurre con los arrays.
❑ Pueden tener longitud variable.
❑ Podemos agregar y quitar elementos en tiempo de
ejecución.

Desventajas de una lista
frente a un array

❑ Las listas no tienen noción de índice, por lo que no

podemos hacer accesos aleatorios.
❑ Necesitan más espacio en memoria, ya que tienes que
almacenar en los punteros.

CAMPO

Un campo es la mínima unidad de información a la que se puede

acceder; un campo o un conjunto de ellos forman un registro, donde
pueden existir campos en blanco, siendo este un error del sistema
operativo. Aquel campo que posee un dato único para una repetición
de entidad, puede servir para la búsqueda de una entidad específica.

REGISTRO

Es un tipo de dato estructurado formado por la unión de varios elementos

bajo una misma estructura. Estos elementos pueden ser, o bien datos
elementales (entero, real, carácter,...), o bien otras estructuras de datos. A
cada uno de esos elementos se le llama campo.

ARCHIVO

Un archivo o fichero informático es un conjunto de bits que son

almacenados en un dispositivo. Un archivo es identificado por un nombre y
la descripción de la carpeta o directorio que lo contiene. A los archivos
informáticos se les llama así porque son los equivalentes digitales de los
archivos escritos en expedientes, tarjetas, libretas, papel o microfichas del
entorno de oficina tradicional.
