Wh questions

Las questions words o preguntas afirmativas,

ayudan a definir y especificar una pregunta en ingles,
pues estas se escriben con wh, como what, who,
whose, when,where,why,which y how
 What
Significa qu, cual o cuales, puede utilizarse tanto en preguntas (como
pronombre interrogativo) o para hacer afirmaciones (como pronombre
relativo).

Example:

1) What time is it? (Qu hora es?)

2) What is your name? (Cul es tu nombre?)
3) What is she doing? (Qu est haciendo?)
4) What is the weather like? (Cmo est el clima?)
5) Whats his phone number? (Cul es su nmero de telfono?)
 Where
Pregunta por un (lugar o ubicacin). Where se traduce como dnde o
adonde.

Example:

1) Where are you from? (De dnde eres?)

2) Where are you? (Dnde ests?)
3) Where do you live? (Dnde vives?)
4) Where were you born? (Dnde naciste?)
5) Where is the dog? (Dnde est el perro?)
 Who
Pregunta algo en relacin a alguna persona. Who se traduce como
quin.

1) Who is he? (Quin es l?)

2) Who is your friend? (Quin es tu amigo?)
3) Who is talking? (Quin est hablando?)
4) Who is running in the park? (Quin est corriendo en el parque?)
5) Who was at the party? (Quin estaba en la fiesta?)
 Whose
Se usa al inicio de la pregunta cuando se quiere descubrir de quien
es algo.
Example:

1) Whose is that car? (De quin es aquel automvil?)

2) Whose is that bag? (De quin es aquella bolsa?)
3) Whose is this? (De quin es esto?)
4) Whose are this keys? (De quin son estas llaves?)
5) Whose is this book? (De quin es este libro?)
 When
Para preguntar el (momento o tiempo) en que algo sucedi,
sucede o suceder . When se traduce como cundo.

Example:

1) When did they sell their home? (Cundo vendieron su casa?

2) When were you born? (Cundo naciste?)
3) When will he arrive? (Cundo llegar?)
4) When was the race? (Cundo fue la carrera?)
5) When did the concert start? (Cundo comenz el concierto?)
 Which
Suele confundirse con what ya que tambin significa "qu" o "cul". La
diferencia es que which se utiliza para preguntar por algo cuando hay varias
opciones es decir para preguntas generales.
Example:
1) Which was the book you read last week?
(Cul era el libro que leste la semana pasada?)
2) Which was the lamp you broke? (Cul era la lmpara que rompiste?)
3) Which month is the coldest? (Cul mes es el ms fro?)
4) Which one is yours? (Cul es tuyo?)
5) Which color do you like, blue or red? (Cul color te gusta, azul o rojo?)
 Why
Usamos why para preguntar (la razn o causa) por la que algo sucedi,
sucede o suceder. Why se traduce como por qu.
Example:
1) Why are you working so late? (Por qu estn trabajando tan tarde?)
2) Why is he here? (Por qu l est aqu?)
3) Why is the sky blue? (Por qu el cielo es azul?)
4) Why are you sad? (Por qu ests triste?)
5) Why do you wake up so early? (Por qu te despiertas tan temprano?)
 How
Es una question word que no comienza con wh-, pero tambin est entre
las bsicas: how significa cmo.

Example:

1) How are you? (Cmo ests?)

2) How was your flight? (Cmo fue tu vuelo?)
3) How can I help you? (Cmo puedo ayudarle?)
4) How do you feel today? (Cmo te sientes hoy?)
5) How do you want your cell pone? (Como quieres tu celular?)
