Resumen.
Objective: To determine the frequency of urinary incontinence, female patients 20-60 years old, at the
Dr. Francisco Eugenio Moscoso Puello University Teaching Hospital, National District. January 2021-
August 2022.Methodology: It is a descriptive, cross-sectional and retrospective study. The population
studied in the research was 28 female patients aged between 20 and 60 years old, from the urology
medical consultation of the Hospital Dr. Francisco Eugenio Moscoso Puello. The data was obtained
through research files based on information from the patient files. Based on the results obtained in
this investigation, the conclusions are: The frequency of urinary incontinence in female patients aged
20-60 years old at the Dr. Francisco Eugenio Moscoso Puello University Teaching Hospital, National
District. According to the results obtained in our scientific research, urinary incontinence is more
frequent in the age range of 50 to 60 years old. According to the results obtained, comparing the two
prevalent races in the urology consultation, with the black race and the mixed race, of which the
mixed race was the most affected. According to the results obtained, urinary incontinence is more
frequent in patients who only attended a primary level of basic education. The risk factors associated
with urinary incontinence were: Arterial hypertension as the most frequent risk factor, followed by
urinary tract infections. Other factors such as obesity, cancer and genitourinary tumors, diabetes
mellitus, multiparity, bladder prolapse and cerebrovascular accidents are also included. Parity is
related to the presence of urinary incontinence, according to the results obtained, the higher the
number of pregnancies, the more frequent urinary incontinence will be. The most common type of
urinary incontinence revealed in our study was stress urinary incontinence. Keywords (Incontinence,
