In ancient Greece, conic sections were known, a phenomenon that arises from making cuts
in a cone, in a rather particular way. By studying its graphic and algebraic behavior, great
applications in science are shown that allow solving millennia-old problems. On this
occasion, a study of the circle, hyperbola, ellipse, and parabola will be carried out.
Desarrollo de los ejercicios
b) Tomamos a x= 400

𝑦= − = = 132,34

Es decir, se pueden producir 132,34 libras de queso

𝑦 − 115 = (𝑥 − 281)

Despejando se obtiene:
𝑥 281
𝑦= − + 115

𝑥 64
𝑦= −

Siendo esta última la relación.
𝑏 2 = 149.597.8702 − 2.502.6222
𝑏 = 149.576.935,4

Así la ecuación está dada por

(𝑦 − 6)2 = − (𝑥 − 11)
10
It was possible to demonstrate applications of the ellipse in behaviors of the earth itself with
respect to the sun, evidencing the applicability of the conic sections and the importance of
their algebraic representation.
In addition to this, there is a need to use graphic representation as a method of interpreting
the problem and supporting algebraic aspects.
