REPRODUCCIÓN:
El oso de anteojos siente necesidad de aparearse a partir de los cuatro años de edad. Los
machos y las hembras se reúnen solamente para reproducirse. El tiempo de gestación no es
muy claro. Se cree que dura de siete a ocho meses y medio.
Las hembras erigirán una morada para dar a luz a sus crías (una o dos). Normalmente el parto
se produce entrando el mes de febrero, y son ellas mismas las que se encargan de cuidar y
resguardar a sus retoños

El oso andino (Tremarctos ornatus) es el único oso de Sudamérica y es endémico de los Andes
