Dear Parents and Guardians,

With the increase in technology being used in today’s classrooms it is important for

students to be vigilant in education and that includes knowing how to tell if what they see online

is real or if it is fake. Knowing if a source is providing misinformation or has bias is a very

important tool in education, especially in a history class where we talk about an abundance of

sources. Attached is an infographic that gives more information on this topic and helps students

identify the validity of their sources by using methods such as lateral reading or corroboration.

Its our jobs as educators and parents/guardians to enable our students and help protect them from

disinformation by educating them.

Queridos padres y guardianes,

Con el aumento de la tecnología que se usa en las aulas de hoy, es importante que los

estudiantes estén atentos en la educación y eso incluye saber cómo saber si lo que ven en línea es

real o falso. Saber si una fuente proporciona información errónea o tiene prejuicios es una

herramienta muy importante en la educación, especialmente en una clase de historia donde

hablamos de una gran cantidad de fuentes. Se adjunta una infografía que brinda más información
sobre este tema y ayuda a los estudiantes a identificar la validez de sus fuentes mediante el uso

de métodos como la lectura lateral o la corroboración. Es nuestro trabajo como educadores y

padres/tutores capacitar a nuestros estudiantes y ayudarlos a protegerlos de la desinformación al

educarlos.
