Centralized Supervision Unit
The Centralized Supervision Unit (CSU CSU500A/CSU500B) is the foreground monitoring
unit of the system. It monitors the AC distribution, DC distribution, rectifiers and batteries
of the system.

Functions
l Management
à Supports the battery charging, discharging and test management.
à Supports automatic sleep of the rectifiers and thereby saves energy.

à Supports the export of history records through a USB flash drive.

à Supports data query, parameter setting and system control through the LCD.
l Alarm
When faults occur on the power system, the CSU reports alarms and takes protection
measures.
l Monitoring
à Collects the operation data of the power system and monitors its operating status
in real time.

2-7
à Transmits data to the supervision center (SC), and monitors the power system
remotely in accordance with the orders received from the SC.
l Wireless communication
Supports GPRS network mode, having SMS notice and the E-mail notice function.
l Web functions
After the CSU is connected to the network, you can access the CSU by using IE7 or
a later version.

External View
For the external view of the CSU500A/CSU500B, see Figure 2-8.

Figure 2-8 CSU External View

1. LCD 3. RJ45 Ethernet interface 5. Buttons

2. USB interface 4. Indicators

Interfaces
l USB interface
à Supports USB flash drives but does not support SD card or other portable storage
devices, such as portable hard disks, MP3 or MP4.
à The system format of the USB files is FAT.
l RJ45 Ethernet interface
à The Ethernet interface rate is 10M/100M (adaptive).
à The Ethernet interface supports multiple monitoring networking modes through
Telnet, HTTP, FTP and SNMP.

Indicators
The indicators display the operational status of the CSU and the system. For a description
of indicators, refer to Table 2-8.

The alarm name is “Man Fan Fail”, the status is “Close”, and
the alarm level is “Critical”.

There is a TEC air conditioner, in-relay 2 is used to detect the

alarms of the air conditioner. The alarm name is “TEC Fault”,
the status is “Open” and the alarm level is “Critical”.

X4 In-relay 3, 4 The user can customize the alarm for in-relay 3 through the
supervision unit. By default, the alarm name is “In-Relay-3#”,
the status is “Close”, and the alarm level is “Mask” (no alarm).

l If there is a smog sensor, in-relay 4 is used to detect the

alarms of the smog sensor. The alarm name is “Smoke
Alarm”, the status is “Close”, and the alarm level is
“Critical”.

the alarm for in-relay 4. By default, the alarm name is
“In-Relay-4#”, the status is “Close”, and the alarm level
is “Mask” (no alarm).

Output Relay Interfaces

X14 Out-relay 1, 2 l Output relays 1 to 6 correspond to the alarm codes A1 to

A6 respectively in the CSU software.
X15 Out-relay 3, 4
l Multiple alarms can share one output relay. For a
X16 Out-relay 5, 6
description of the alarms, refer to “ALarm List”.

Alarm List
Table A-1 lists the alarms that can be detected by the CSU500A/CSU500B (SV1.03)
supervision unit, and describes their default alarm levels and output relays.
l A1 - A6 refer to 6 output relays for the alarms.
l Multiple alarms can share one output relay. Each alarm cannot correspond to multiple
output relays but one output relay only. “No” means that no output relay is assigned
to an alarm. When an alarm is reported, it indicates that problems occur on the
corresponding output relay.
l The output relay of an alarm will not take effect when its alarm level is set to “Mask”.
