TRANSLATE THE TEXT:

1. Align the edge of the compass with the

starting point (A – you are here) and the
finishing point (B – your destination).
2. Rotate the compass housing to align the
orienting lines and the orienting arrow
with the meridian lines of the map.
3. Rotate the map and compass together.
Make the red end of the compass needle
point to the north. Don´t let the compass
needle point towards the south.
4. Hold the compass in your hand and keep
the needle aligned with the orienting
arrow on the housing. Follow the
direction of the travel arrow on the compass.
5. Don´t turn the compass housing.

Alinee el borde de la brújula con el punto de partida (A – usted está aquí) y el punto de
llegada ( B – su destino)

2. Rotate the compass housing to align the orienting lines and the orienting arrow with the
meridian lines of the map.
Rote la carcasa de la brújula para alinear las líneas de orientación y la aguja/flecha de
orientación con las líneas meridianas del mapa.
Note: la preposición “to” nos indica que se expresará “propósito”.

3. Rotate the map and compass together. Make the red end of the compass needle point to
the north. Don´t let the compass needle point towards the south.
Rote el mapa y la brújula juntos. Haga que el extremo rojo de la aguja de la brújula
apunte al/hacia el norte. No deje que la punta de la aguja de la brújula apunte hacia el
sur.
Note: Optamos por “juntos” porque en español siempre se usa el masculino cuando
tenemos un sustantivo masculino y otro femenino.
Note: El verbo “let” funciona igual que el verbo “make” ya que se permite o deja QUE
algo suceda.

4. Hold the compass in your hand and keep the needle aligned with the orienting arrow on
the housing. Follow the direction of the travel arrow on the compass.
Sostenga la brújula en su mano y mantenga la aguja alineada con la flecha de
orientación en la carcasa. Siga la dirección de la aguja de dirección/orientación en la
brújula.
Note: Es importante colocar las palabras en español. En la mano – sostenemos.

5. Don´t turn the compass housing.

No gire/rote la carcasa de la brújula.
