Facebook

El sitio web, Facebook, fue creado para que sus usuarios puedan comunicarse con sus

amistades. Cualquier adolescente que tiene una dirección de correo electrónico es miembro de

Facebook. Ellos comparten fotos, videos e información personal que tristemente está al alcance de

estafadores.

Muchos niños piensan que pueden controlar la información que comparten en la red, pero

la realidad es que no tienen tanta privacidad y hay verdaderos peligros. Mucho de los detalles en
su perfil es compartido con anunciantes por razones económicas. Estas brechas de seguridad son

muy comunes especialmente porque los “hackers” pueden conseguir las contraseñas fácilmente y

acceder a su cuenta.

Las autoridades de protección de datos aconsejan no compartir información personal

especialmente su dirección. No hable con desconocidos y si tiene alguna duda, hable con un adulto.

The Role of Grandparents

¿Cuál es el papel de los abuelos en la familia? Ésta es una pregunta trascendente. Para

algunos, son los niñeros que reemplazan a los padres que trabajan. Para otros, representan los

pilares de la familia. La realidad, es que su rol es múltiple.

Son los historiadores familiares porque relatan las tradiciones y la historia de los parientes.

También, como muchos son generosos, ayudan a los nietos económicamente con los gastos

educacionales.

En fin, los abuelos nos dan afecto y cariño, nos cubren las travesuras y nos aconsejan para

que tengamos una vida mejor. Aunque a veces no estamos de acuerdo con lo que dicen porque

consideramos que sus ideas son anticuadas, es importante acordarnos que debemos apreciarles y

tratarles respetuosamente. Cuando no hay ancianos la sociedad se echa a perder.

Travelling by Motorcycle

Viajar en motocicleta es una de las aventuras más esperadas por muchos adolescentes.

A los viajeros les fascinan la rapidez del vehículo, la sensación del aire en las caras y el peligro que

corren. Los usuarios las conducen con tanto orgullo que muchos se sienten envidiosos. Sin duda,

la gente ahorra gasolina, no encuentra problemas con el estacionamiento y disfruta de completa

libertad. Sin embargo, siempre hay que tener cuidado. Se recomienda usar un casco cuando pasee

en moto porque el motociclista es muy vulnerable a los accidentes. Cuando las carreteras tienen

embotellamientos los motociclistas deben respetar las leyes del tráfico y tomar precauciones. Cada

año hay muchos accidentes automovilísticos causados por motocicletas. El consejo es cuidado

porque el necio es atrevido y el sabio comedido.

Learning via the Internet

Las nuevas tecnologías permiten que los estudiantes puedan trabajar solos. Los materiales

que se ofrecen en la red, sirven para enriquecer el aprendizaje porque son variados, divertidos y

modernos. Además, el maestro ahorra tiempo con las actividades educativas que se encuentran

en el Internet y el alumno se beneficia de los ejercicios para practicar.

Las herramientas como el chat facilitan correspondencia entre estudiantes de diferentes

países. Los estudiantes se comunican e intercambian experiencias para mejorar sus conocimientos

de las culturas entre otras cosas. Cualquier duda que tengan, tiene solución a través del Internet.

Por supuesto, también hay desafíos. Si se corta la conexión al Internet o no hay electricidad

no se puede aprovechar de la red. Por eso, el profesor siempre será irremplazable. Una computadora

jamás reemplazará a un profesor.

The Cellular Phone

La influencia que tienen los medios de comunicación en la sociedad actual es de tal

magnitud que ha cambiado nuestra forma de vida. El teléfono móvil ocupa un papel central en la
vida diaria de los adolescentes, y se ha convertido en una droga para ellos.

El celular tiende a ser una gran distracción para los jóvenes, y según una investigación

realizada en España, los adolescentes dependientes del celular, tienen más probabilidades de

fracasar en la escuela. También, los usuarios de mensajes de texto han creado su propia jerga

española para sus mensajes, y esto está reflejándose negativamente en el trabajo escolar de los

jóvenes. Los chavales deberían controlar el tiempo dedicado al celular, y utilizar tarjeta de prepago

en vez de contrato para ayudar a limitar los gastos.

The Water Park in Margarita

El parque El Agua es una atracción en la isla de Margarita. Al entrar en este parque

acuático, verá el tobogán, más alto de Venezuela. Asimismo, hay mini-toboganes para los más

pequeños en un sitio diseñado para ellos. Se puede encontrar también, un río lento que rodea

el parque gigantesco, un barril enorme que echa agua y un sinfín de actividades.

Afortunadamente, las tarifas son razonables con ofertas especiales para los niños, las

mujeres embarazadas, los discapacitados y la gente de la tercera edad.

Si tiene la oportunidad de visitar Margarita, es recomendable que visite el parque El Agua.

Este lugar recreativo es tranquilo y pacífico, con mucho entretenimiento, seguridad y comodidad

para toda la familia. Además, todos los que van allí disfrutan muchísimo del lugar.
