the incomparable Antoni Gaudí i Cornet. Born in Catalonia in 1852, from a young age he
would learn the skills to capture form and volume in the boiler workshop with his
father.
During his studies, he worked with architects and engineers such as Joan Martorell,
Josep Fonserè and Francisco del Villar. Gaudí made his work known at the Great
Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 with the realization of a showcase, it was then that
he would meet Eusebi Gü ell, with whom he would carry out several projects and would
become his patron. Within this period, which later brought him maturity and fame, he
built the Gü ell Palace and the Chapel of the Gü ell Colony, among others.
Casa Batlló , for example, was a complete remodeling of the façade in the heart of the city
of Barcelona, considering it one of his most recognized works around the world. One of
his most famous commissions was the Sagrada Familia, a commission that took him a
large part of his life and did not end since he died in 1926, hit by a tram while on his
way to the site like every night.
