It is the use of animals in scientific experiments, it is estimated that around 50 to 100 million animals are
used for these purposes, is this cruel? Yes, each animal used for these purposes is deprived of any
activity that makes it happy, they are also burned, electrocuted, poisoned, isolated, many starve,
drowned, become addicted to drugs and contract brain damage. In most cases these animals die.
The industry that most uses this practice is the cosmetics industry, they tend to use dogs, rabbits, pigs,
goats and rodents, many more are used, but the most used are those already mentioned. According to
an article published in the newspaper "El Mundo" "Experimenting with animals does not make sense
because its results are not applicable to human beings" Karl Bygrave, director of the British company
Lush, is convinced that they are unnecessary because we differ in anatomy, physiology and metabolism.
Subjecting healthy animals to operations that they do not need or raising animals with diseases "à la
carte" to use them as specific "models" to try to provide solutions to our health problems, apart from a
moral atrocity, is a fraudulent medical and scientific aberration Because reactions to drugs and violently
and artificially induced diseases or traumas to animals of other species are different and are not related
to diseases that develop spontaneously in humans.
Diapostiva:
Types of experimentation
1)Repeated dose toxicity: rabbits or rats are forced to ingest or inhale cosmetic
ingredients.
2) Reproductive toxicity: pregnant rabbits or rats are forced to ingest substances
and are then killed to assess toxicity in their fetuses.
3) Toxicokinetics: rabbits or rats are forced to ingest the substance and then are
killed to examine their organs and see how badly it affects.
