Se usa:
-DESPUÉS DE PREPOSICIONES
-COMO SUSTANTIVO, SOBRE TODO CUANDO ES EL SUJETO U OBJETO DE UNA ORACIÓN
VERBOS SEGUIDOS DE GERUNDIO: Admit, appreciate, avoid, celebrate, consider, delay, deny, dislike,
enjoy, finish, imagine, involve, keep, mind, miss, postpone, practise, regret, risk, stop, suggest.
EXPRESIONES SEGUIDAS DE –ING: It’s no good, it’s not worth, it’s no use, it’s a waste of time, can’t
stand, can’t bear, can’t help.
2. EL INFINITIVO:
-se usa para decir porqué haces algo. He goes there to make friends
-se usa para decir porqué existe algo. This is to help you
-se usa después de TOO y ENOUGH. It’s too cold to run outside
-DESPUÉS DE NOMBRES (the best way to help)
-DESPUÉS DE ADJETIVOS (it’s good to smile)
VERBOS + TO INFINITIVE: agree, appear, begin, bother, decide, demand, fail, hope, learn, manage, offer,
plan, refuse, seem, be supposed, threaten.
3. VERBOS SEGUIDOS DE INFINITIVO SIN TO: Agree, ask, attempt, beg, choose, dare, demand,
deserve, Afford, appear, arrange, decide, fail, hope, Intend., learn, manage, mean, offer, , prepare, promise,
refuse, seem, threaten, expect. Hesitate, need, pretend, wait, want, wish
REMEMBER / FORGET + TO- recordar / olvidar hacer algo en el futuro. Algo que tienes que hacer
+ ing. Recordar / olvidar algo del pasado
STOP + TO. PARAR PARA HACER ALGO PARA HACER OTRA COSA
+ ING. PARAR DEFINITIVAMENTE DE HACER ALGO. Ya no lo hace
REGRET + TO. –con TO SAY, TO TELL, TO INFORM: siento darte esta información
+ -ING. –lo siento porque no hice algo
