Estás trabajando en una tienda en la que venden celulares y te aborda un cliente que sólo habla inglés, el cual te
solicita
ayuda para comprar un teléfono. Se entabla una conversación en la que se comparan las características de los
diferentes
equipos, de forma que el cliente elija el que más le convenga en cuanto a precio y funcionalidad.

Introduction to the Unit


Welcome to this new unit! This time, you will work with vocabulary, grammar, reading comprehension
and writing related to buying goods and services. In this sense, the focus will be on technology. You
will have an opportunity to assess your knowledge before and after you complete this unit. Before
starting with the exercises, use the flashcards on page 12 to learn this unit’s vocabulary. You can also
access www.bit.ly/SEC5_CARDS_1 to study this unit’s vocabulary and expressions. We hope you
enjoy this learning experience!

¡Bienvenido/a a esta nueva unidad! Esta vez, aprenderás sobre vocabulario, gramática, lectura y
escritura relativas a comprar bienes y servicios. En ese sentido, se hará énfasis en el tema de
tecnología. Además, podrás evaluar tus conocimientos antes y después de completar la unidad. Antes

F) I use headphones to listen to music so I don’t disturb my parents. My headphones were
bought at a virtual store.

G) When no one is home, I use speakers to play music as loud as I can. You can buy cool
speakers at electronic shops in Santo Domingo.

H) My keyboard is lots of fun because it lights up when it is dark. I bought this keyboard
from a good friend of mine who works for Amazon.
