ciales y portuarios.
ABSTRACT
This task will show the permanent connection that existed between the ports of Santa Marta on
the Caribbean Neogranadino and Saint Thomas –Caribbean Danish– in much of the nineteenth
century. It indicates who were the entrepreneurs who traded their goods on both sides. The type of
effects that were distributed and commercial channels that were generated. This relationship had
strong links with smuggling. The commercial aspects are detailed by statistics. The importance of
this work is that it covers an existing historiographical vacuum, because there are no works that had
tried before this port and commercial connection.
