Introducción:
En este curso exploraremos algunos de los temas y problemas más importantes que han surgido en
el área de la teoría del conocimiento durante el siglo XX y que han perdurado hasta el siglo XXI,
haciendo especial énfasis en sus argumentos centrales, su evaluación y desarrollo histórico. Nuestro
propósito será ofrecer una panorámica general de esta área de la filosofía, estableciendo algunas
conexiones pertinentes con temas y problemas afines en la filosofía de la ciencia contemporánea.
Objetivo general:
Nuestras metas serán: (1) entender correctamente los temas contemporáneos en la teoría del
conocimiento, a partir del análisis de los argumentos o razones esgrimidos, (2) examinar sus
diferencias y sus semejanzas; y (3) evaluarlos críticamente, destacando sus ventajas y dificultades
teóricas.

Objetivos específicos:
Los temas y problemas que revisaremos son: I. La naturalización de la epistemología; II. El
problema de la causalidad y el problema de la inducción; III. El contextualismo epistemológico;
IV. Las reflexiones filosóficas en torno al entendimiento científico V. Los antecedentes del
pluralismo epistemológico-ontológico y VI. Teorías pluralistas en la Filosofía de la ciencia.

Tema 5. Antecedentes del pluralismo epistemológico-ontológico.

3 Conocer los antecedentes y la discusión dentro de la cual se enmarcan las teorías 16
pluralistas. Identificar las tesis contrarias al pluralismo: realismo metafísico,
absolutismo, cientificismo, reduccionismo, monismo. Distinguir entre diferentes
tipos de pluralismo: epistemológico, ontológico, metodológico. Abordar al
 pluralismo desde su definición pragmatista clásica a través de James y Peirce:
algunas consideraciones pragmatistas respecto a la objetividad, el entorno y la
verdad. Pluralismo lingüístico: juegos de lenguaje y formas de vida en Wittgenstein.
Hábitos y prácticas como elementos relevantes para la justificación. Contextos
lingüísticos y relatividad ontológica: relación entre ontología y lenguaje.

Conocer algunas teorías pluralistas en el ámbito de la filosofía de la ciencia.
Analizar sus alcances, así como sus implicaciones epistemológicas y ontológicas.
Rasgos principales del Realismo Interno: compromisos pragmatistas, dicotomías,
dualismos, objetividad constituida, antecedentes kantianos. Kuhn y el cambio
científico: pluralismo sincrónico y diacrónico, implicaciones ontológicas,
paradigmas, problemas ejemplares, educación y adiestramiento. Goodman y el
relativismo radical: versiones de mundos, irrealismo, equilibrio reflexivo.
Normatividad y pluralismo: reglas de verdad, verdad como propiedad intrínseca,
deflacionismo.
