SIMPLE FUTURE
RESOLUCIÓN No.1480 DE NOVIEMBRE 09/2010
DANE 18500100-1744 NIT. 844.100.746-2

El "simple future" se refiere a un tiempo posterior al actual y expresa hechos o certezas. En este caso, no hay lugar para la actitud. El
"simple future" se emplea:
1. Para predecir un evento futuro: It will rain tomorrow.(Llovera manana)
2. Con "I" o "we", para expresar una decisión espontánea: I'll pay for the tickets by credit card.(Pagare los boletos con tarjeta de
credito)
3. Para expresar voluntad o disposición de hacer algo: I'll do the washing-up. (Lavaré los platos.)/
He'll carry your bag for you. (Él llevará tu bolso por ti.)
4. En forma negativa, para expresar rechazo o falta de disposición para hacer algo:The baby won't eat his soup.(El bebe no comera su
sopa)/ I won't leave until I've seen the manager!( ¡No me iré hasta que haya visto al gerente!)
5. En forma interrogativa con "shall" y "I", para formular un ofrecimiento:Shall I open the window? (Abrire la puerta)
6En forma interrogativa con "shall" y "we", para formular una sugerencia: Shall we go to the cinema tonight?(Iremos a cine esta noce)
7. En forma interrogativa con "shall" y "I", para solicitar consejo o instrucciones: What shall I tell the boss about this money? (Que le
dire al jefe sobre el dinero)
8. Con "you", para dar órdenes:You will do exactly as I say. (Harás exactamente como te digo.)
9. En forma interrogativa con "you", para formular una invitación:Will you come to the dance with me? (Vendras al baile conmigo?)
Will you marry me?
Con el resto de las personas (you, he, she, they)
"shall" se emplea únicamente en construcciones poéticas o literarias, e.g. "With rings on her fingers and bells on her toes, She shall
have music wherever she goes."

FORMACIÓN DEL "SIMPLE FUTURE"

El "simple future" está compuesto por dos partes: will / shall + infinitivo sin to
AFIRMATIVA: Sujeto + will + infinitivo Example: I will go = I shall go (Ire)/ I will call you tonight= I’ll call you tonight (Te
llamaré esta noche.)/ She will arrive late= She’ll arrive late (Ella llegará tarde.)/ They will be happy to see you= They’ll be happy to
see you.(Ellos estarán felices de verte.)
NEGATIVA: : Sujeto + won’t + infinitivo Example: They won't see (Ellos no veran)/ I won’t call you tonight.(No te llamaré esta
noche.)/ She won’t arrive late(Ella no llegará tarde.)/ They won’t be happy to see you.(Ellos no estarán felices de verte.)
INTERROGATIVA: Will + Sujeto + infinitivo Example: Will she ask? (Preguntara ella?)/ Will you call me tonight?(¿Me
llamarás esta noche?)/ Will she arrive late?(¿Llegará ella tarde?)/ Will they be happy to see you?(¿Estarán ellos felices de verte?)
INTERROGATIVA NEGATIVA: Won’t + Sujeto + infinitivo Example: Won't they try? (No trataran ellos?)
