ABSTRACT
Erythroxylum coca Lam. is a species that was and is used to increase resistance to physical effort and the
sense of well-being that they produce in the community. Coca leaves contain tannins, essential oils and
multiple alkaloids in their composition. Datura stramonium is a hallucinogenic plant, widely distributed and
easily accessible, contains toxic anticholinergic alkaloids whose ingestion can lead to serious illness or death.
Sparteum junceum L is a plant native to the Peruvian department; of the flowers you get tannins and a yellow
dye called cytisine which is the active ingredient used to treat skin lesions produced by Psoriasis vulgaris.
Nicotiana tabacum L. is a species belonging to the family Solanaceae, grown mainly for the purpose of
smoking. In the first half of the twentieth century, European countries used tobacco leaves, for the extraction of
oil and as raw material in the manufacture of soap, paints, lubricants and fuel. Objectives: To extract and to
recognize the alkaloids of the extract obtained from the leaf of Erythroxylum coca Lam, dry leaf and pulverized
of Datura stramonium L, flower of Sparteum junceum L and leaves of Nicotiana tabacum L. through the
method of basic extraction, general reactions and individuals. Results: The results were positive for the
presence of alkaloids and derivatives of ortinine, lysine and tropane in the qualitative analysis through the
formation of precipitates, colored complexes and crystals by interaction of the alkaloid salts and the different
reagents. Conclusions: The extraction through the alkaline method is the most appropriate. Alkaloids and
derivatives of ortinine, lysine and tropane were identified by general and particular qualitative methods.
