El Inti Raymi o fiesta del Sol fue la festividad religiosa ms importante durante el

tiempo de los Incas. Hasta el da de hoy se sigue representando, tomando lugar cada
24 de junio en el complejo de Sacsayhuamn - Cusco. Hace ms de seis siglos el inca
Pachactec instituy la Fiesta al Dios Sol, era una ceremonia inca que se realizaba
con carcter anual en el Cusco, la capital del Tawantinsuyo, entre el periodo final de la
cosecha y el inicio invernal de los Andes. El Inti Raymi es equivalente a lo que hoy es
la fiesta de ao nuevo.
La fiesta en honor al Dios Sol, se desarrolla por un da en tres escenarios histricos y
naturales:
El Qorikancha que significa Cerco de oro: Es donde inicia la fiesta a las 9:00am y en
donde un inca ficticio realiza una invocacin al Sol.
Terminada la primera parte de la escenificacin en el Qorikancha, el Inca junto a su
squito real se dirigen en procesin hasta la Plaza de Armas, en donde se realiza la
ceremonia de la Coca y se hace una invocacin a los Apus.
Ms tarde el elenco se dirige hacia el parque arqueolgico de Saqsaywaman, donde
ms de 80 mil personas aguardan la ceremonia central. Exactamente a la 1.45 de la
tarde, el sonido de los pututos indica el ingreso de los representantes de los Cuatro
Suyus, quienes aparecen con su ropa tradicional y al ritmo de la msica y danzas de
sus lugares de origen.
Finalmente ingresa el Inka, quien procede al sacrificio de una alpaca para anunciar el ao
venidero. Para terminar el Inca se pone de pie, extiende los brazos hacia el horizonte y

rinde homenaje al Inti elevando dos grandes vasos de oro llenos de chicha; con esa
accin se da por terminada la ceremonia.
En mi opinin es muy importante la difusin de la cultura prehispnica y
sobretodo de una fiesta tan significativa en el mundo andino como lo es el
Inti Raymi. Esta fiesta es solo algunas de las tantas festividades que se
llevan a cabo en el Per y por las cuales deberamos sentirnos muy
orgullosos.

Pero tambin es muy importante resaltar todas estas maravillas que

tenemos como lo es el El Corikancha y el parque Saqsaywaman, las cuales
como patrimonio cultural deben ser cuidadas y preservadas por todos
aquellos quienes las visitan.
