Descripcin del curso
El curso Snscrito I ofrece una introduccin a la lengua snscrita, una lengua clsica de la
India, adems de una de las lenguas indoeuropeas ms antiguas documentadas (su obra ms
sagrada - el Rigveda compuesta entre el ao 4500 y 2500 AEC). El snscrito se usa
actualmente como lengua litrgica en el hinduismo, el budismo y el jainismo. Hoy en da es uno
de los 22 idiomas oficiales de la India, utilizado con propsitos acadmicos y particulares y en
menor medida como lengua vehicular de cultura. Su posicin en la cultura de la India y del
sudeste asitico es similar a la del latn y el griego en Europa. El snscrito es hablado por 11.106
personas en la India y 694.433 personas lo tienen como segunda lengua (censo de la India de
2011). La literatura snscrita es una de las ms extensas del mundo y cuenta con al menos 30
millones de textos.*
En el presente curso se estudiar: el alfabeto Devangar, las reglas de eufona (sandhi), la
declinacin de sustantivos y adjetivos tanto de raz voclica como de raz consonntica, los
numerales, los pronombres, la conjugacin de verbos de todas las 10 clases (en el sistema del
presente, del perfecto, del aoristo y del futuro tanto en voz activa como en voz pasiva), y la
formacin de participios y su uso.
El curso alberga el contenido de una veintena de captulos segn el manual de lengua snscrita
por Madhav M. Deshpande.
Recorrido del curso
El curso consiste en unas 25 clases anuales (una por semana), del 15 de octubre al 27 de
mayo.
