Motion Detector: Wide Angle, Volumetric
Description and Purpose
In an intrusion detection system, the motion detector is a wall-mounted sensor that
detects motion within the protected area, and then analyzes the motion to determine if an
actual intruder causes it. When the motion detector determines that an intruder causes
the motion, it sends a data message to the system control panel for processing. When
there is no motion in the protected area, the motion detector sends a data message to the
control panel, indicating that the area is in a normal, idle condition.
Users see status and alarms from the sensor at the local keypad. The control panel can
also send a message to the monitoring station.

Automatic Door Locking System
Description and Purpose
In banks, cash payment centers, and other public processing offices, it can be difficult to control unplanned overtime due to
sudden increases in clientele at the end of the business day.
Often, a clerical worker closes a station, and locks all the entry doors to stop the inflow of traffic. The clerk then stands at a
door designated as an exit, and unlocks the door to allow individuals who have completed their business to leave.
The automatic door locking system allows all stations to remain active so processing can continue. It can automatically
lock all entry doors so that no new clients may enter, while allowing those who have completed their business to exit by
pressing an exit bar, which temporarily kills power to the magnetic lock. This creates an automatic emptying effect that
clears the lobby at the end of the day. The system can also switch on the Closed sign, if needed.
Automatic door locks can integrate with the fire alarm, intrusion, or panic system so that in the event of a crisis, the system
can lock doors to stop entry of newcomers. In addition, the system can integrate door position sensors to verify the closed
status of the door while locked. The maximum number of doors that can be locked by the system depends on the control
panel you choose.

Description and Purpose

In warehouses, banks, auditoriums, restaurants, and other facilities, fire door exits
must be configured for free exit while barring entry of unauthorized people. While the
door is designed for this purpose, this type of door can often become the escape
route for a thief, or the unwelcome entry point for non-paying customers.
The system can integrate Emergency Fire Exits into a more centrally monitored and
controlled system, and view alarms and status of the system from the system keypad.
Emergency Fire Exits can integrate with the fire alarm, intrusion, remote control, or
panic system so in the event of a crisis, the system can sound a local alarm at doors
to notify staff members of an unauthorized exit. In addition, the system can integrate
door position sensors to verify the locked status of the door while closed. The
maximum number of emergency doors on the system depends on the control panel
you choose
Door/Window Position Sensor: Concealed, Wide Gap
Description and Purpose
The Door/Window Position Sensor is a sensor that is drilled into a steel door or window frame
so that it is concealed. The sensor detects the open or closed position of a door or
window. When the door or window is open, the sensor sends status data to the control panel
indicating the open position. Likewise, when the door or window is closed, the sensor sends
data to the control panel indicating the closed position. Users see status and alarms from the
sensor at the local keypad. The control panel can also send a message to the monitoring
station.
The sensor is ideal for steel doors and windows in facilities like banks, kitchen facilities, public
processing centers, restrooms, hospitals, and other facilities. The door/window position sensor
can be used in Intrusion Detection, Access Control, Annunciation systems, and in Energy
Management applications.

Duct and Damper Control System
Description and Purpose
Duct and damper controls are used in HVAC systems to direct air flow through air
conditioning, heating ducts and ventilation systems.
In larger facilities, common air return ducts recycle air within rooms, routing air from
rooms within the facility back into the main HVAC system.
Solving Air Flow Issues
For fire safety reasons, automatic dampers are often
installed inside return air ducts. In the event of a fire, the
fire alarm system can close dampers that are held open,
to reduce the spread of smoke and toxic fumes within the
facility. Likewise, in the event of a panic alarm, the panic
system can close ducts to contain chemical gas, and
biological hazards.

Elevator Access Control System

Description and Purpose

Elevator Access Control systems allow people access to certain floors
within a scheduled time frame. The system can control one or more
elevator controllers in a system. It provides a range of system authority
for users.
The maximum number of elevators on the system depends on the control
panel you choose.
By issuing an identification device to each person in the facility, you can
use the system to limit access to certain floors to authorized people. By
integrating the elevator access system with CCTV Cameras, you can
view activity as users disarm and gain access to floors in the building.
Elevator access can depend on the users classification, the time of day,
which elevator is being approached, and the armed state of a department.
In addition, changes to the status of a zone can either cause elevator to
grant access to a floor, or cause the elevator to deny access. By using
one or more of these attributes, you can create elevator access control
policies that are extremely flexible and secure. By using an elevator
access control system, you can separate the general public and
unauthorized users, from users, from authorized users
Elevator Access Control System
Solving Access Control Issues
A facilities staff changes frequently. Lost keys and keys of employees who fail to return them at
termination dramatically, reduce the effective security of Elevator locks. By assigning each person an
electronic identification device, such as a proximity card or key fob, the identification device can be
removed from the system, disabling it from being used. In this case, human resources would simply
replace the identification device instead of changing the locks on every Elevator in the facility.
Many facilities require that a supervisor be on site prior to allowing other personnel into the building. The
system can be configured so only supervisors can disarm and enable access to elevators by other
personnel.
Different departments operate according to various schedules for different elevators. The system allows
you to individually schedule elevators to allow access to personnel based on the users authority in the
department.
Keeping the general public outside of restricted areas is a challenge, especially through elevators that
employees must frequently use. The system is the most flexible way to achieve this goal. Automatically
locking and unlocking Lobby Elevators can increase safety outside of normal business hours. This can
also minimize overtime costs related to last-minute customers. The system can hold an elevator open, or
lock it according to a schedule.
The cost of a guard service is significant. By using access control, intercoms, and cameras, you can
minimize the manpower requirements and quickly reduce the high cost of guard service.

Your design may impact cabling between the control room and the car: Your application may require
installing devices or connecting to devices located inside of the car. This may require use of conductors
within, or replacement of the traveling elevator control cable. Contact the elevator manufacturer or service
company to coordinate connections to devices located inside of the car.
Elevator Recall System

Description and Purpose

Elevator Recall Systems allow fire alarm systems to send
an elevator car to a selected floor based on the
triggering of a smoke detector within a fire alarm
system. In addition, the recall system may also
include a heat detector at the top of the elevator
shaft, pull stations at each elevator lobby, and other
triggering devices. In the elevator control room,
system relay modules trigger elevator control
connection inputs to direct the elevator car to the
specified floor. The relay modules trigger when the
fire alarm system activates.
The maximum number of elevators or floors that the
system can operate depends on the control panel
you choose.
Different elevators can be directed to different floors
depending on the device that is activated.
In addition to recalling the elevator, the system can
release fire barrier door holders, allowing them to
close until the all-clear signal is given.

Solving Recall Control Issues
In the event of a fire alarm, building codes may require that the elevator car be
automatically sent and held at a particular floor. The system integrates with elevator
controls to recall the elevator car to the specified floor in the event of an alarm
Elevator recall must occur at the instant a fire alarm sounds, delivering existing
passengers to the evacuation point and blocking access to elevator functions until the all
clear signal is given. The system responds quickly to fire alarms or other critical events in
the safest manner.
In addition to recalling the elevator, building codes may require that fire barrier doors be
released to block entry into the elevator. The system can release door holders so they
can automatically close.
Placing the elevator back into service after an alarm has been reset must be performed
quickly to clear slowed traffic. The system instantly restores service as soon as the fire
alarm resets.

Your design may impact cabling between the control room and the car: Your
application may require installing devices or connecting to devices located inside of the
car. This may require use of conductors within, or replacement of the traveling elevator
control cable. Contact the elevator manufacturer or service company to coordinate
connections to devices located inside of the car.
Description and Purpose
Leak and Flood Detection
The Leak Sensor is a device that detects when non-flammable liquid puddles
in a protected area, or when liquids reach a certain level in a tank or drip
pan. When water or other non-flammable liquid puddles, the sensor sends
status data to the control panel indicating the undesired condition. Likewise,
when the area is dry, the sensor sends data to the control panel associated
with the normal status. Users see status and alarms from the sensor at the
local keypad. The control panel can also send a message to the monitoring
station.
The leak sensor is useful in computer rooms, basements with sump pumps, in
areas around plumbing, kitchen areas, drip pans for water heaters,
refrigeration, and air conditioning ductwork, around water tanks, or other
containment equipment that should normally be dry.

Parking Gate Control System
Description and Purpose
Parking Gate systems allow cars to enter and exit parking lots within a scheduled
time range. Parking gate access systems allow you to reserve parking for
intended vehicles by keeping the general public out. You can control one or more
gate/door controllers in a system.
The maximum number of gates on the system depends upon the control panel
that you choose.
By issuing an identification device to each person authorized to park in the facility,
you can use the system to limit access into parking lots and garages to authorized
people. By integrating the parking access system to CCTV, you can view activity
as users enter the parking lot.
Gate access can depend on the user, the users classification, the time of day,
which gate is being approached, and the armed state of the users department. In
addition, changes to the status of a zone can either cause a gate to unlock, or
cause the gate to lock down. By using one or more of these attributes, you can
create Parking Gate policies that are extremely flexible and secure. By using a
Parking Gate system, you can separate the general public from users.
You can use the system to conditionally lift any gate in the facility. Typically, gate
systems cover all entrances to the parking lot.
Solving Parking Gate Issues
A facilities' staff changes frequently. Wireless remotes that are lost, and departing employees who fail to return the
remote to the building at termination, dramatically reduce the effective security of the gate. By assigning each
person an electronic identification device, such as a proximity card or key fob, the identification device can be
singly removed from the system, disabling it from being used. In this case, human resources would simply replace
the identification device instead of changing the locks on every door in the facility, ID devices are less expensive
than remote transmitters.
Different departments operate according to various schedules for different doors. The system allows you to
individually schedule gates to allow access to personnel based upon the schedule of his or her department.
Keeping the general public outside of restricted areas is a challenge, especially through gates that employees must
frequently use.
The cost of a guard service is remarkable. By using Parking Gate, intercoms, and cameras, you can minimize the
manpower requirements and quickly reduce the high cost of guard service.
