DIALOGUE

H: Good evening teacher Jenny del Rosario, on this occasion, I am Harold Bances and my
partner Nelson Prado, we are going to interpret the dialogue related to the activity: ¿How well
do you know your partner?

N: Without anything else to say, we begin:

H: Hi, you’re my new roommate, ¿right?

N: Hi, yes, my name is Nelson, nice to meet you.
H: Nice to meet you, my name is Harold.
Where are you from?

N: I'm from Uruguay. Exchange student.

H: Ah well, here in Peru it's one hour less. I hope you don't have any difficulty with that.
N: I can adapt quickly, don't worry.
H: ¿Do you study every day?
N: Only on weekdays, holidays are rest days.
H: ¿What shift?
N: Afternoon shift. What about you, Harold?
H: Well, I study in the morning. My classes start at 7 in the morning and end at 11.
N: I see. What career do you study?
H: I study Industrial Engineering. And you, which one?
N: Ah, I also study Engineering, but Civil Engineering.
H: Interesting, no wonder I like you. We have the same engineering thinking.
N: I confirm it, I like you too.
H: ¿So, what do you do besides studying?
N: Well, I work on weekends.
H: ¿What is your schedule?
N: From 4 to 7 p.m. in a supermarket, I'm a cashier.
H: That's good, I'm glad.
N: ¿And you, do you work?
H: No, I don't work.
N: ¿What do you do on weekends?
H: Well, those days I get up and have a late breakfast. Then I go out to eat at a restaurant.
N: ¿What restaurant do you go to?
H: I go to "Restaurante Central", it's in Barranco.
N: ¿Who do you go with?
H: Sometimes I go alone or with some friends. Although I almost always go with my parents.
N: I understand, it's a pleasure.
H: ¿And you Nelson, what do you do in your free time?
N: Well, in Uruguay I was visiting my family, who live on a hacienda.
H: Tell me more...
N: Well, there my parents grow all kinds of crops. They have cattle and many other things.
H: I like that kind of family. How interesting.
N: Thank you very much. And, what do you do in the evenings in your free time?
H: Well, I usually go out with friends wherever fate takes us.
N: I see, in my country I was not very friendly. I was kind of shy.
H: I understand, I’m going out today, ¿do you want to join me?
N: Yes, I would love to go with you. Then you can tell me more about your life and this
beautiful country.
H: Well, get ready, we leave in half an hour.
N: Ready, give me a moment.
H: Hurry up.
