¿Qué es el equipo de buceo?

El equipo de buceo te adapta al mundo subacuático y te permite
formar parte del medio. Tú buceas, pero tu equipo de buceo lo hace
posible. Esto es, una máscara no ve por ti, pero te permite ver bajo el
agua. Un regulador de buceo tampoco respira por ti, pero te permite
respirar bajo el agua. Un traje húmedo no te da calor, pero permite al
cuerpo conservar su propio calor con más eficacia.

¿Que Necesito?

Máscara: Permite que tus ojos vean con claridad bajo el agua.

Traje de protección: Protege frente a cortes y arañazos y conserva el

calor para que te sientas cómodo.

Tubo: Te permite respirar en la superficie con la cara dentro del agua

sin consumir gas de tu botella.

Unidad de buceo autónomo: El corazón de tu equipo de buceo,

scuba (el acrónimo de self contained underwater breathing apparatus)
te permite respirar bajo el agua y ascender, descender, mantenerte
suspendido o flotar a voluntad. Se compone de un regulador, botella,
dispositivo de control de la flotabilidad, arnés e instrumentos.

Reloj de buceo: Se usa para medir el tiempo de inmersión.

Ordenador de buceo: Controla tu profundidad y tiempo bajo el agua,

para mantenerte dentro de los límites establecidos.

¿What is Scuba Gear?
Scuba diving equipment adapts you to the underwater world and makes you part of
it. You do the diving, but your scuba gear makes it possible.

¿what do I need?

Mask: Allows you to see clearly underwater.

Fins: Allow you to swim using only your powerful leg muscles.

Snorkel: Lets you breathe at the surface with your face in the water without
wasting air from your scuba unit.

Buoyancy Control Device (BCD): The BCD is a Jacket that holds your air
cylinder. You can sink slowly, have weight lessly or float comfortably at the touch of
button. The BCD allows you to control your floatability.

Regulator: Delivers air from you cylinder exactly the right pressure when you
inhale.

Cylinder: Stores compressed air and holds enough to dive for 30 minutes to one
hour.

Exposure Suit: Protects from cuts and scrapes and retains heat so you stay
comfortable underwater.

Submersible Pressure Gauge (SPG): Also called the air gauge, constantly tells
you how much air you have remaining in your cylinder, allowing you to end you
dive with a comfortable reserve.

Alternate Air Source: A second mouthpiece connected to the regulator used to

share air with a dive buddy.

Compass: Is used to navigate and not get lost under water

Dive Computer: Monitors your depth and time underwater to keep you within
established limits.

Weight System: Offsets your tendency to float so you can descend gently
underwater when you want to.
