FUTURE TENSES
Es de vital importancia que no traduzcáis los tiempos futuros
directamente desde el español, ya que haciéndolo así daremos lugar a
errores. La clave es mirar para qué se usa cada futuro.

PRESENT SIMPLE
USOS:

Horarios estipulados. Ej: The supermarket opens at 5.


Eventos programados. (películas, partidos de fútbol, reuniones,
citas médicas. Ej: The film starts at 5 this afternoon.

FORMACIÓN: Igual que en el presente.

BE GOING TO
USOS:
Planes. ej: I am going to visit my grandma tonight.
Intenciones: I am going to get a haircut, I hate my fringe!
Predicciones basadas en evidencias. Ej: Look at those grey clouds!
It is going to rain

BEAR IN MIND! Existe una leve diferencia entre PLANES con PRESENT
CONTINUOUS y BE GOING TO, pero la mayoría de las veces se pueden
usar indistintamente.
PRESENT CONTINUOS: plan ya puesto en la agenda, fijado.
BE GOING TO: se ha planeado, pero todavía no se ha fijado al 100%.

FUTURE SIMPLE

USOS:
Planes NO BASADOS EN EVIDENCIAS, sino en opiniones personales.
Ej: I think the contestant in red will win.
Decisiones espontáneas: ej: It’s raining! I Will take an umbrella.
Promesas: ej: I promise I will help you.
Hechos futuros: ej: in 2080 cars will fly.
Peticiones. Ej: Will you marry me?

BEAR IN MIND! Las oraciones de contexto de futuro que contengan las


siguientes expresiones “I think, I suppose, I guess, Probably, Maybe,
Perhaps, I’m sure…” irán siempre con el futuro simple (will).

FUTURE CONTINUOUS (ESTARÉ COMIENDO)


USOS:
Para expresar lo que estaremos haciendo en un momento concreto
del futuro. Ej: Tomorrow at 5 I will be sleeping.

USOS:
Para expresar una acción completada antes de un momento
determinado del futuro. Ej: By January, I Will have finished my
degree.
