Al finalizar las sesiones de esta semana, el estudiante tendrá la oportunidad
de conocer como resolver problemas de áreas de regiones planas, áreas entre
curvas y el volumen de un sólido.
CONTENIDOS
INTRODUCCION
En este capítulo trataremos de resolver áreas en regiones
planas, áreas entre curvas y métodos para hallar el volumen en
sólidos.

Ejemplo
Calcule el área de la región

Solución.

i) Para calcular el área de la región limitada,
primero se realiza la gráfica de la región
limitada por estas curvas.
ii) Se halla las intersecciones de las curvas.
De 𝑓 𝑥 = 𝑔(𝑥)se tiene 𝑥 2 + 1 = 𝑥 − 𝑥 2 + 2

Ejemplo.
Halle el volumen del sólido generado por la 𝑦=6
rotación de la región limitada por las gráficas de

Solución

Corteza Cilíndrica
Una corteza cilíndrica es un anillo cilíndrico de pequeño grosor. En la
figura se ilustra una corteza cilíndrica de radio interior 𝑟1 ,radio
exterior 𝑟2 y altura ℎ.
Ejemplo
Halle el volumen del sólido generado al girar sobre el
eje 𝑦, la región limitada por la curva 𝑦 = 𝑥 − 1 ,el
eje 𝑥 y la recta 𝑥 = 4.
Solución
Para obtener el volumen de esta región se
usará el método de la corteza cilíndrica.
Sea ƒ 𝑥 = 𝑥 − 1, 𝑥 ∈ [1,4] Donde 𝑥 es el

Del gráfico se observa que

CONCLUSIONES
Aprendimos a resolver problemas que implican el cálculo
de áreas y volúmenes aplicando los distintos métodos
teóricos que son base para cursos a-posteriori, como son
el de Cálculo en varias Variables en Integrales Dobles,
Triples y de Línea.
