"This presentation conveyed perceptions on epilepsy in a way to create an experience for its
audience. It represented an opportunity to stimulate reflection, discussion, and knowledge
construction between members of the academe, as well as patients, their family, and
volunteers. Aerial silk and dance performance with lighting and music artifacts created an
atmosphere to involve the audience in the perceptions of epilepsy." (Spagnol et al., 2019, p.
63)
"As such, CSE reflects a self-judgment of one’s own creative capabilities or potential
which, in turn, affects the person’s activity choice and effort and, ultimately, the attainment
of innovative outcomes."
concepto.
"The connections of body, mind, and emotion in artistic expression, such as aerial practice,
were also recently described by Kosma and Erickson. Cognitive and sensory bodily
awareness are keys to all stages of skill acquisition, though they may appear in different
magnitude and forms, including thinking how to move versus sensing the silk versus being
aware of lines and poses.9 In addition, putting together a performance with or without
music embodies emotion and expression that cannot be broken down into analytical pieces;
what remains within the performer and the audience is only the experience.7,9" (Kosma et
"In general, emphasizing playful and culturally relevant technical and performative skills
like dancing and playing basketball is associated with enjoyable and meaningful movement
experiences as well as wise decisions regarding being active in the future.8,22–25" (Kosma
"Jobi, Delaine, and Eliza in the control group emphasized the importance of aerial silks to
their mental health, especially following their progress. Similarly, Brandan, Cathy, and
Kara in the treatment group said that aerial silks evoked feelings of accomplishment and
relaxation."
"Aerial dance places students in a more extreme relationship with gravity than ground
dance, and thus, every subtle movement generates immediately felt feedback. Since actions
often speak louder in the air than they do on the ground, the aerial dancer is often at a
higher risk for injury." (Hane y Stich, 2023, p. 2)
"Aerial practice or aerial silks is a physically demanding artistic endeavor, which can be
performed as physical theater or dance. The emphasis is on artistic expression, including
sharing a story and expressing emotion, primarily via physical movement." (Kosma y
Erickson, 2020, p. 14)
