Resumen
Abstract
Ecocritical research focused on cinema is scarce, nevertheless it is necessary
when faced with the phenomenon of new media and increasing production of
documentaries, videos, and films on environmental subjects. It is a cinema in
the Americas with an ecological consciousness that expresses the relationship
between human beings and the natural environment. In this article I will outli-
ne some key challenges: the borders opened by the media production of biodi-
verse communities, and the outreach of this opening as an activation of the
ecological imagination, as well as a way of filming the notion "Good Life," be-
yond the control of the development and economic growth models.
Keywords: "good life," sustainable communities, indigenous cultures, political
documentaries, ecocinema, ecocriticism, ecological imagination, dissent, digital
production.
"Introduction" 2; traducción mía).
