Utilidad.
Antiséptica.
Descongestiva.
Antibiótica.
Antiespasmódica.
Estimulante.
Febrífuga.
Hipoglucemica y antihelmíntica.
Indicaciones.
Contraindicaciones.
Método de administración.
Decocción. Hervir a fuego lento 3-4 hojas por taza de agua durante 10 minutos en un
cazo cubierto y tomar 1/2-1 taza 3 veces diarias para los estados iniciales de
resfriados, enfriamientos, catarros nasales, gripe. asma, sinusitis y dolor de garganta.
Inhalaciones. Usar 1/2ml (10 gotas) de aceite esencial o 6 hojas en un bol de agua
caliente en inhalaciones para los resfriados y las infecciones de las vías respiratorias.
Compresas. Mojar un disco de algodón con 10 gotas de aceite esencial y 60 ml de
agua y aplicar sobre las articulaciones hinchadas y doloridas.
Aceite para fricciones pectorales. Usar 1/2m1 (10 gotas) de aceite de eucalipto en
30m1 de aceite de almendras para fricciones en el pecho en resfriados, bronquitis,
asma y problemas respiratorios. Además de para combatir problemas respiratorios,
también se utiliza el aceite esencial en forma externa para tratar condiciones de la piel
como el herpes o disminuir el dolor causado por enfermedades inflamatorias en
articulaciones y músculos.

Indications.
Contraindications

Method of administration.
• Decoction. Simmer 3-4 leaves per cup of water for 10 minutes in a covered
saucepan and take 1 / 2-1 cup 3 times daily for the initial states of colds, colds,
nasal catarrh, flu. asthma, sinusitis and sore throat.
• Inhalations. Use 1 / 2ml (10 drops) of essential oil or 6 leaves in a bowl of hot water
in inhalations for colds and respiratory tract infections.

Como bactericida para la higiene bucal. Se mastican los frutos y así elimina la placa
bacteriana.

Contraindicada para las gestantes debido a las congestiones uterinas que provoca.
A elevadas dosis produce envenenamiento.
Método de administración.
• Para las molestias digestivas y de menstruación se prepara agua hervida caliente con
unas cuatro o cinco hojas; se puede endulzar con miel y se bebe caliente, hasta dos
veces al día.
• Para la sarna se hierve un puñado grande en un litro de agua durante 15 minutos y
después se aplica en todo el cuerpo. Para el dolor de oídos se entibia una cucharadita
de aceite comestible, se ponen tres gotas en el oído enfermo y luego unas hojas de
ruda.
• Para enfermedades nerviosas, vértigo, dolor de cabeza y gota, se hierven tres hojas
por litro de agua y se toman tres tazas al día. La misma infusión se usa en úlceras y
llagas, para enjuagar la boca y, dos veces por semana para lavar la cabeza y eliminar
los piojos.
• En caso de abscesos y furúnculos se hace una cataplasma de la planta fresca
machacada, que se aplica caliente sobre la lesión y se cubre con una gasa; también
se puede usar en forma de polvo o extracto fluido, tintura o infusión para uso externo,
pero siempre con la supervisión de una persona autorizada.

• Falta de apetito.- Prepara una infusión, con una cucharadita de hoja seca por una taza
de agua, tómala antes de cada comida.
• Favorece la expulsión de parásitos.- Prepara con 15 gramos de hojas y flores en un
litro de agua. Toma una taza en ayunas; los(as) niños(as) tomar media taza.
